All I can say (never having ordered from them) is that they appear to be creating some highly unrealistic expectations with the photo for their mystery box. TVs, GPS, desktop and laptop computers, etc.. Then when the box arrives with RCA cables, an assorted case, a USB hub, and a mouse, there'll be plenty of finger pointing back and forth about the real vs. perceived value of the box.

Personally, I'd sit it out.. but if you're feeling lucky...

I just received the heart rate monitor watch from them that was advertised on deals.woot the other day. I got it lightning fast as advertised.

yes, it is guaranteed... however you do have to pay for shipping back. I got two of them last time... and I wasn't too thrilled with it. I got the upgraded box (which was somewhat worth it... broke even cost wise even if i didn't want some of it. The lower level box was horrible and full of junk. The shipping wasn't worth the reimbursement. Some people "are said" to get the good stuff, but I havent' heard on here where they have. and yes I know "many people who order them aren't on woot, so you won't hear from them" I'm just sharing my experience. you may have better "luck"

Why does it say the box weighs three pounds if they dont know what they are putting in them??? A surround sound or desktop each weigh more than that. Kind of funny if ya ask me!!

the package says 3lbs for the weight so i wouldnt expect to be getting a 32" tv or a desktop computer..

I try to warn everyone whenever these guys pop up. Their prices arn't really that good for the products they sell, sure you can get a desktop for $100, but it has 1GB RAM and a P4 CPU.

Their returns process is a nightmare. I had to contact them multiple times and it took weeks to go through. They only give you site credit. So if you buy this BoC, you are giving them your money no matter what. Also, you need to call in your order if you want to use store credit!

Please avoid this website!

I actually ordered two computers and a mystery box for them before Christmas. The computers were for my baby sister and my mother, so they were plenty good enough for the crap they're gonna use it for (Facebook, Yahoo games, email etc.).

In the mystery box I bought from them at this time (non-upgraded version [don't even recall if an upgraded option was offered at the time]), I received a bunch of different items that included some pretty decent stuff, one of them being a GPS.

I'm in for one upgraded mystery box this time, I'll try to remember to post what I got here when I get it.

I live in Chicago and have been to their warehouse in Morton Grove. It seemed like a pretty cheesy operation to me. I got the impression (I could be wrong) that their idea of refurbishing a computer is wiping it down with Windex and that's about it. I never bought anything from them, so I can't speak to their return policy, but I sure wasn't impressed with their customer service.

Many have told us that they will give them as gifts to their children, and close friends.

Our mystery box is like the lottery, you take a gamble on it, but one day you will strike it rich. Only difference is ours has a better chance of winning big.

I for one would never order from this company again. The customer service lied to me about my order shipping out, twice, they never replied to any of my emails, and to top it off it took over a month for my purchase to arrive. This company is a joke. Good luck with them. I would rather lick skid marks out of a toilet bowl than deal with these idiots ever again.

Like a lottery ticket, you know it will be something, but you don't know yet if it is a winner or not.

For anyone that ordered the mystery box, has your package actually shipped yet? Gearxs states my packages shipped and give 1/7 as the date but the fedex tracking numbers still do not state they have shipped. They only say "Shipment information sent to FedEx Please check back later for shipment status or subscribe for e-mail notifications"

Also, most boxes were shipped out using FedEx Smart-Post.

In the past I never had any problems with GearXS besides some basic general confusion. However this Mystery Box is where I am drawing the line. I received the email like everyone else on 1/7 that my package had "shipped". After waiting days, periodically checking the status of my package on FedEx, still nothing. I finally received a notification that my package was "picked up". GearXS, don't lie to me and tell me that my package has officially shipped until you no longer have it in your possession. Now not only will my package not arrive for another week (less than 6 hour travel time technically, screw smart post), but also I can't trust the idea that there was actually any sort of "lottery" for big prizes if it wasn't sent out when you said it would be. 4.3lbs, probably a bunch of crap, just like always...lesson learned...never again.

@studerc Hey at least your package was "picked up". Mine still has an anticipated ship date of Jan 7th. What a joke! I emailed their customer service department and guess what, no response.

@jlthomasx3 Interesting. I just checked my tracking info today on my two packages (got the upgraded also). Both weigh in at 5.6 lbs and were picked up yesterday in Illnois and are now in Wisconsin. Btw I live in Jersey. It says scheduled delivery date for both is 1/21. So I'll keep checking it and wait.

I find it funny that since we have all been complaining about shipping the guy from gearxs seems to magically have disappeared. Now that our packages are actually in the shipping process and we have some sort of status, I bet he'll reappear.

OK, some action - my MB was "shipped" on the 7th; I finally got actual tracking info: Picked up on the 14th, in transit, est. delivery on the 24th. 836 lbsshiping weight; I'll post the contents when it arrives.
