Bought it in a previous woot. The ear indention is nice. There's a button on the pillowcase holding it on so you just unbutton that to take it off. Girlfriend doesn't care for it, I kinda like it. Lotta my neck problems went away. Didn't work out so well for her.

So: YMMV.

I bought these in the last Woot Off. They are fair but not great. The pillow itself is very hard. The pillow case is scratchy and not soft. I wouldn't recommend these.

Can you hear the ocean in the earwell (for those that need the soothing sounds of the ocean to sleep)?

vote-for13vote-against

I've always wanted a fluffy toilet seat!

vote-for21vote-against

My wife is a pretty serious snorer. I got to where I was wearing earbuds and listening to classic rock n roll all night just to overcome the snoring. We bought a couple of these at a woot-off recently and as soon as she switched to these pillows, the snoring stopped. Just to be sure there was a correlation, we tried a night with a regular pillow. The "snorosaraus" returned! Back to the SideSleeper pillow... no snoring. We just recently visited our son... same situation... huge snorer to almost a whisper after introducing him to the pillow. It only works if they are on their side... If my wife rolls onto her back to sleep, the snoring returns, the the rest of time without snoring is fantastic. Highly recommend.

I too ordered in a previous Woot. Not for use as a fluffy toilet seat.

I sleep on my back. But before falling asleep, I read and iPad on my side, and this pillow is just wonderful for support. Can't say how it works as a (sleeping) pillow because I don't use mine that way, but it's faaabulous for reading & computing on your side.

vote-for5vote-against

I might add that there are evenings when I want to continue to listen to music and the earholes make wearing earbuds much more comfortable.

vote-for9vote-against

The pillows are quite comfortable to me, but they're not designed for turning - at all. If I stay on m sid, I love it. If I move, my head is on the mattress.

As for the earwell, I laugh every time I look at it. Ive never had a pillow with a sphincter.

vote-for2vote-against

I too bought these at last Woot. Did not work out for sleeping, but make excellent pillows for my lower back problems.

vote-for2vote-against

Try anything once ... in for one pair.

vote-for4vote-against

I bought this the last time because I felt my existing pillow is too massive and i only sleep on the edges. I dont know what it is about these pillows that i bought from woot but i wake up within an hour of sleeping and shift to my old pillow. I cannot say what exactly it is. I wouldn't buy it again.

vote-for6vote-against

Purchased on a prior Woot. For me, it was too tall, too firm, too hot, too small an earhole, and not a good fit with sleep apnea machine. I've donated them already.

Maybe you will like it better.

vote-for11vote-against

I've had one of these for a few months now and I really like it.

I've always had a fair amount of neck and shoulder pain and sleeping in funky positions has been part of the problem in the past. Before I got this I would regularly have a stiff neck in the morning or wake up in the middle of the night with my shoulder hurting and/or my arm asleep. Now I sleep fairly better and have less pain. The only thing weird about using it and what takes getting used to is that if you want to turn to your other side, you have to flip the pillow over, which wakes you up a bit. Well, you don't "have" to. It works nearly as well if you lay on it in the wrong direction. That being said, though, using this pillow I have a lot less need to flip sides because I stay comfortable longer on one side.

I paid this much for one of them. I may pick these up just to have.

These types of pillows are hard to recommend though. They just work for some people, and for some they don't.

vote-for4vote-against

Was not very impressed with mine from a prior Woot. Was too firm and switching sides was awkward. Tried it and went back to my regular, flat pillow.

Looks like there are some quite good reviews at Amazon, and that for TWO, this is a good deal.

Funny about something like pillows: it's so personal, no way everyone's going to like it ...'

vote-for1vote-against

I also bought some whenever they came up on Woot. Ended up not using them because I am turning around multiple times a night and as these have one end longer ... you can probably guess.

vote-for8vote-against

My only negative on these pillows is that the pillow cover is very thin; I thought the cover was missing. it doesn't stay buttoned but that hasn't affected it. I plan to make a stretchy cover for mine. (perhaps in a drool-friendly print)

The pillow is very uncomfortable when one rolls to their back... which, being a side sleeper pillow probably doesn't bear mentioning, and the firmness of the pillow really does relieve shoulder pressure while on your side. I agree it is pretty great for using the computer in bed too.

The ear hole is not really in the right spot for me, but I just need it for my neck and shoulder. it hasn't bothered me that my ear is not in a hole.

Sometimes, when I move, it feels like someone touched me on my back. 8( but it is just the pillow. That has startled me several times since I sleep alone LOL

Overall I'm glad I bought these and will probably regret rehoming the second pillow.

vote-for3vote-against

@charleenarandall: I'm so glad someone else sees a sphincter there.

vote-for3vote-against

who needs late night tv ads when we have woot! Just made another purchase! Keep offering great bargains!

vote-for3vote-against

I kind of like these! I don't have a lot of trouble turning over, but then I'm pretty short at five feet even, and my arms don't clear the bottom of even the short side, so it's really reversible for me. Even at fortyMUMBLE, I haven't figured out what to do with my arms while I'm sleeping on my side (I guess I'm just an awkward sleeper) and this candy cane design gives me pillow guts to grab onto. The only thing I don't like it not being able to use my favorite silk pillowcases, because they're not, you know, U shaped.

I gave the other one from my 2-pack to a friend to try, but I think she's afraid of it.

vote-for7vote-against

Bought these during the last WOOT. I was pretty excited however theyre a waste of $$. They are hard as rocks and scratchy..do not waste your time or hard earned $$. I still have one in the plastic you can have it for free thats how much I hate them.

vote-for3vote-against

I got two previously as well. I haven't had any problem with the button not staying buttoned. I don't really like the pillowcase, it's thin and way too white!I also use a sleep apnea machine, and I haven't had any trouble with it interfering with my headgear. It does keep me on one side and sometimes my shoulder will hurt from not turning over, and my ear doesn't always fit in the hole, but overall I'm really pleased with my purchase.

vote-for1vote-against

i'd be all over this if it weren't for the button in the earwell. what were they thinking?

vote-for3vote-against

I bought two on a previous woot and I like them. I have one at our house and another at a vacation house. They are weird to get used to. I toss and turn a lot, but actually roll over and leave the pillow in place, then switch from the short side to the long side back and forth and it really doesn't seem to matter. I don't have the neck and back aches in the morning like normal. I'm hooked. They look stupid but, they work for me. What else can I say. It is a personal preference. You have to try it to know. I might buy more for back up....

vote-for17vote-against

Even if I really fluff up my ears before stuffing one in the sphincter, they don't reach the button.

Oh, the things I never thought I'd be typing....

vote-for2vote-against

I bought two a while ago here on Woot. I have several 'sleep issues' and this pillow is helping a lot! Neck and should pain is a thing of the past, and I like how my head stays cool cuz it's not burried in a pillow, rather it's supporte by one and there's more air circulation. Important to me as I'm a warm sleeper and sleep on a foam bed. I also use it to prop up to read or watch tv and it's great. The case is softer after washing, and I'm going to make a couple from soft pillowcases just cuz...

vote-for3vote-against

These are some of the funniest comments I've read on Woot in awhile. Thanks guys and gals, I really needed a laugh after the day I've had.

vote-for3vote-against

I just purchased these during this Woot. I'm hoping they help me stay comfortable, (I'm pregnant), and usually a back sleeper. Side sleeping is a real chore for me, although I'm getting better. Plus - I have a snorer husband that needs some help. For $20 I'll give them a shot. As for the comments about the pillowcases, I'm a crafty person, so I think I could come up with some homemade pillowcases. Good luck everyone with your side-sleepers!

vote-for2vote-against

I bought these before, and they're pretty decent. The pillow cases are pretty cheap, so I had to make my own. I just left the ear-hole open, so I can run my headphones through them. Now they are awesome.

vote-for2vote-against

This is a love-em-or-hate-em item and we love them. I wasn't thrilled with the so-called pillow case either so I let that go as an extra pillow protector and just wedged them into my regular pillow cases - and that works. My husband's a snorer and as long as he sleeps on his side, he doesn't snore :-) I originally bought two sets with the intention of giving one to a daughter but now have decided to keep both sets. Sooner or later all pillows need to be replaced and we don't want to do without them. My only complaint is that they kind of mess up the idea of a neatly made bed - but I can live with that.

vote-for2vote-against

@ellablack: I'll take you up on that offer - I got the 2 pack on the previous Woot-off, and I love mine.

vote-for2vote-against

To anyone who got them from woot last time, did they come in individual retail boxes like in stores or just as loose pillows in a brown woot box?

vote-for3vote-against

Bought these last time. They're pretty hard, and the ear hole actually makes this worse (since you're putting all your weight on a smaller area of your head as a result). My jaw actually ended up hurting.

vote-for3vote-against

Hmmm. Tempted. I'm a side sleeper. My solution so far has been some normal-sized (i.e. queen) pillows filled with buckwheat hulls. Made on TV called these 'sobakawa' pillows. Love them. They mold to whatever shape I want and are biodegradable when you empty/refill them every couple of years. Got mine from beans72.com.
Never looked back and totally miss it when I sleep away from home.

vote-for2vote-against

Bought these during the prior woot like others. But, I bought them for our cats who love to curl up in them. They're quite popular with the felines.

vote-for3vote-against

Bought two at the last wootoff. Gave one to my 6mo pregnant sister, and she LOVES it. She's been having severe back pain, and she said this is helping.

vote-for2vote-against

I ordered a couple of these not too long ago, and they just arrived. When I tried to use it, I noticed a "chemical" smell, like plastic or an organic solvent. Not super strong, but definitely noticeable when your nose is right up to it. I'm not sure if it's coming from the pillow's sphincter, but probably it's just the stuffing. I didn't see any other comments mention it, so either I got a bad pair or it goes away quickly. (Hope so). Anyone else notice this?

vote-for3vote-against

My fiance and I bought these on a previous woot. They're perfect for making a Dr. Zoidberg costume for Halloween! Just dye the pillow cases red.

vote-for3vote-against

As an Ettin, this deal was pretty much made for me. Thanks, Woot!

vote-for2vote-against

Big time side sleeper. I've seen these before on the tv, but I had my doubts. For this price though? A pillow that the kitty will love if I hate it...in for a two-pack. Already planning to make better cases.

Thanks for the info everyone!

vote-for3vote-against

Whoa. When I just ALMOST ordered, the confirmation said: "SideSleeper Pro Pillow and Pillow Case – 2 Pack

1 SideSleeper Pro Pillow:

1 Zippered Pillowcase: "

I'm reading that I will get only ONE pillow, not two. Anybody else seeing that?

vote-for2vote-against

@dewriter: I see the following:
(2) SideSleeper Pro Pillows
(2) Matching Zippered Pillow Cases
Maybe the site's been updated, but it looks like an embedded two-fer woot!

vote-for2vote-against

I bought these from Woot a few weeks ago. Even though they were sold as new, the two pillows I got were stained, smelly, and obviously used.

There's no such thing as a "refurbished" pillow; it's either brand new or it's not. Mine were not. Yuck.

vote-for2vote-against

This pillow will not make you sleep better or deeper unless you have neck or back pain.

vote-for2vote-against

Bought these 2 weeks ago. Am a side-sleeper and thought these were worth a shot. Unfortunately, not - did not last a night. They are fairly uncomfortable (feel like they are filled with lots of newspaper rather than a soft material), and bulky so that, unless you have very broad shoulders, your neck is bent upwards, rather than being neutral. Also, they are made so that the long side is against your back for support. Great idea, except if you turn at all during the night (as I do often), you would have to sit up to lift your head high off the pillow, and flip it around. Will be donating them.

vote-for2vote-against

Some nights I love them some nights I don't. Need to get crafting to make something more pretty to cover them. My 9 year old does LOVE them by the way, mainly because they're just weird looking.

vote-for2vote-against

@dewriter: You will Get TWO pillows and TWO cases as it says in the bottom of the description. I hope this helpls . :)

vote-for3vote-against

@dewriter: You are getting 2 packs. Each pack contains 1 pillow and 1 case.

Just note that the case is already on the pillow and is removed by unzipping it and then unbuttoning the button in the ear... dip-thing. This puzzled some of us for a bit.

vote-for4vote-against

I took a chance on these in a recent Woot. It took a couple of nights to get used to, but now I love it. It is firm, but it has to be to hold your head in the correct position. Believe it or not, if you follow the enclosed directions (yes, for a pillow) your experience will be better. My neck must be too short to use the ear hole, but it still works to keep my head in position. I no longer have to position my hand under my pillow for comfort. I highly recommend trying it.

vote-for4vote-against

@pullthetab: Yeah, I had the same problem. I'm thinking about using them on the couch to lay and watch TV though. As soon as I get my cabinet finished and the TV installed.
