typical TomTom 'searching for GPS signal'...
lots of negative reviews on amazon concerning touch sensitivity.
anyone gots one refurbed? is this what fixed?
sooo @brutherford lost his staff spot? :(
@jamesbottomtooth: I've tried several different kinds including a 5" TomTom and none of them work very well with touch. They work great using a stylus from a PDA but there's no place to store it. I wouldn't buy another TomTom though cause it gets lost when I go out of town, it freezes showing streets and housing developments as blank areas.
I've had the 540 for almost 4 years- back when they were 225.00 :P I haven't had a problem with it yet. I give it 5 stars, only thing i don't like is its 175.00 cheaper now.
well, newer units offer free lifetime map upgrades. I'm guessing this one does not. My TomTom works pretty good, but the map upgrades are insanely expensive, like $25 every 3 months. I've never upgraded and had 1 issue with missing an address. Spend a little extra and get one with free lifetime upgrades. I think these are getting cheaper and offering free upgrades 'cause folks are using smart phones for navigating
