i bought this when it was $89 about 3 weeks ago. I've gotten it up to about 25% full and still working fine.

I just got one last week for $100 delivered and it works great. For best performance, you should get a Buffalo IFC-PCIE2U3 dual-port USB 3.0 adapter for a PCI Express slot in your desktop comfuser. That let mine run over three times faster than on a USB 2.0 connection. Get the adapter from NextWarehouse ($32.38) or Amazon ($33.99). The drive is backward compatible with USB 2.0, so it will work with your laptop. Also said to work with Macs.

Tempting... Unfortunately Seagate has put a lot of really poor quality products out in the market the last couple years. Maybe a great deal but their name is not what it once was.

I bought this for pretty cheap on black friday, and it has served me well. I was glad to find a deal on a USB 3.0 product! It is definitely faster (as long as you have the right ports, of course).
