I read the first line as:
"Yes! There is a rebate!"

I've been looking to up my memory a while, anyone with good experiences using the valueRAM series or should I bite the bullet and go for something more expensive?

@hesocrazy: This is for a laptop that takes DDR3, just to confirm. This memory will work just fine, there's very little reason to pay more for RAM. The people who need expensive memory already know they do.

However, the better question might be whether you really need 8 GB of RAM for your laptop? Unless it only came with 2 GB, 4 is probably enough

@brad3326: How do I check if mine is DDR3?

@bonkerz: Check out http://www.crucial.com

The Memory Advisor on the main page.

@hesocrazy: I've used the ValueRAM line for years, no issues.

This wouldn't work in a Dell GX270 would it? We have one, but it's only got 512 RaM.

Also, would this work in my Asus Laptop or Gateway Laptop?

Ah, so it's really $49.95 + free shipping - $15 rebate = $34.95. meh.

$35 + free shipping on newegg w/promo code EMCKBKA27 (no rebate; ends 8/15): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139482

Why is the picture of desktop sized RAM?

vote-for1vote-against

@fallenanjel: The only way to know for sure if it would work is to run some kind of diagnostic on the computer in question or to physically look at the RAM in the computer itself (if it says what type it is on it, some don't).

@fallenanjel: The Newegg deal is back in stock! $35 shipped with no MIR it is again!

Just ordered it myself.
