dealsalf - season one: 1986-87 (dvd) for $8.57

I tried forcing my kids to watch an episode of ALF and they were not impressed. It made me very sad. I have failed as a parent.

Oddly enough, the one thing that stands out to me about this show is the commercial bump they would always do (most shows don't even do this anymore). Before commercial breaks started, you would hear ALF say, "Before you get up for that final snack, I want you to know i'll be right back!"

Not to poop on this deal, but ALF is a show you can watch the complete series of on Hulu without even needing Hulu Plus.

Alf one season at a time? Really?

I guess you had to have been a child when Alf was on to find it worth watching again.

@starblind: It's also on Amazon Prime. Not sure what seasons, but at least the first one. That's probably enough to satisfy most people's ALF craving.

When a series goes into syndication, they trim out an extra 3-minutes because local stations run that many more commercials than prime-time. Soon after Alf Season One was released, fans quickly discovered that this set features the shorter syndicated episodes rather than the original network full-length episodes. The DVD producers apologized for their mistake and promised later seasons would be done right.
