"What is an peroxide/oxygen cleaner?"

vote-for2vote-against

@benyust2: it is safer for the environment, here is a link that explains more.. http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-an-oxygen-cleaner.htm

@iluvmybubbles: I think they were making fun of the incorrect grammar rather than asking the question.

Im still waiting for my free sample from the last time this was posted....

@benyust2: Oxyclean is a peroxide cleaner. I've found they work pretty good at getting stains off the carpet when using a carpet cleaner. Some fabrics can be "bleached" by it though so definately test it out first. These are considered more "green" because the peroxide decomposes into water fairly quickly and you don't have the stout ammonia or hypochlorite smells. Peroxides also have some disinfecting abilities but bleach is much more efficient at disinfection.

Always need something to clean with... Free sample of a product I may buy if they're serious about it being only a nickle a quart to use. Thanks!

They have a nice marketing spin ("100 % Bioegradable and Green-Seal certified) for a product with containing an alcohol ethoxylate. Linear alcohol ethoxylates have replaced NPEs (nonylphenol ethoxylates) in most industrial cleaners, as people have begun to realize the inherent health risks associated with these products. In fact, Canada recently banned NPEs in all products. Linear alcohol ethoxylates are not much better than NPEs. Don't be surprised to if you see them phased out in cosmetics/cleaners in the next few years. Canada is already targeting linear alcohol ethoxylates on their watch list.

Peroxides certainly have their place in home cleaning and stain removal. Not as effective as hypochlorite bleach, but not as damaging either. Both break down into relatively safe components. Peroxide into H2O and O2; Hypochlorite into H20, NaCl (or, less common, CaCl), and O2.

I got the same outdated autoresponder message, so I wrote to customer service to tell them they have an outdated autoresponder message, and in return I got the same autoresponder message I got from placing the order. Which suggests to me that no one is home. Which further suggests to me that i just gave my email and home address to...hmmm. Not sure at this point. Be advised. I sure wouldn't make a purchase on that site.

@efly69: HEY, you can't say OXYCLEAN!!!!! without yelling (or all caps and lots of exclamation points). It's what Billy Mays would want.

@shadowknight125 - Same here!!!!! I wonder if we'll ever receive the sample.

@tmcinern beat me to it. I could have saved myself the research. I reinvented the wheel here and also independently discovered that alcohol ethoxylate is one of the three main ingredients in this stuff. Danger, Will Robinson.
