This somehow seems like a very bad idea.. not just for waist lines everywhere but for people to find a young girl selling things....

@dawnblum: I get the concern but gone are the days of just the girls selling the cookies by themselves. They usually set up a table with their parents in front of a grocery store or a bank - basically a high traffic area.

Kellogg has one for the iPhone, too.

The parent of girl scout hits you up. This has happened to me several times. Now if you don't want to break your new years resolutions you can buy cookies and GSA sends them to soldiers over seas.

Since the troop only gets something like 55 cents per $4 box, you might want to consider throwing in an extra buck, specifying that it's for the local troop only.

30% of the profit goes to the baker, about 15% to the troop, and the rest goes to the national organization. This isn't bad at all, just still not quite what you imagine when you buy cookies, thinking that you're helping local kids directly.

By the way, for those of non-christian religions or GLBT supporters, the girl scouts are more progressive than the boy scouts. The former admits atheists and gays, the latter doesn't.

I've already ordered. If you need an app to find girl scout cookies you probably need to get out of your cave more often.

That said what is the price of the cookies, I was told $3.50 per box but I've heard others say $4 and $4.50 per box. Something Fishing is going on.
