Last time they did this, it was a little bit of a bust. the deals were abou the same as Amazon's every day prices

vote-for7vote-against

@capguncowboy: That, and Amazon matched their prices EXACTLY (down to the minute. They even ended the sale at the same time lol)

I saw Medal of Honor was on sale at Amazon too so I didn't think it mattered if I didn't buy it from BestBuy. The BB sale ended a few hours later, and I thought I might wanna get MOH - and then BAM! Amazon prices shot back up too.

Something to keep in mind though: Amazon will probably match all of their prices again, so if you have Prime you may be better off getting your stuff thru them.

vote-for3vote-against

What's the deal with shipping? Because if Amazon is going to match then the $25 minimum for free shipping sounds like a better deal anyway.

vote-for5vote-against

Has anyone looked at the garbage that is going to be on sale. The video games are all computer games and the movies are all cartoons. Not one console game. Plus everything I saw is the same price or less on Amazon.

vote-for5vote-against

@jawwaad: All the games are PC Games? And this is a problem why?

sigh... It's just a gimmick to get sales anyways...

vote-for5vote-against

@jawwaad: "Garbage"?

PC games are usually better than console games. And some cartoons are hilarious.

vote-for3vote-against

When you said "cartoons," it made me think of things like Beauty and the Beast or Tom and Jerry collections....

Have you never watched Cartoon Network or FX after 8pm? Archer, Family Guy, and the Venture Brothers (and all the others in the sale) are in an entirely different category than the aforementioned cartoons. Anyone who lets there kids watch while Agent Duchess screws around with Zero probably needs to have their kids taken away from them.

Lets call them "adult cartoons" and agree that the sale doesn't suck that much.

vote-for2vote-against

Amazon is nothing special... when your order is screwed up or something doesn't work out correctly you have to deal with online support, not real customer service. I will take face to face retail any day. And $25 for free shipping is great sometimes, what if you didn't want to spend that minimum amount? Shipping is how these companies make their money, the prices seem lower till you pay for shipping or spend more money to qualify for free shipping.

vote-for2vote-against

@gonffen: I have no problem with PC games, it's just I thought they would have had a selection of PC and console games. Just having PC games in a sale is garbage.

vote-for11vote-against

@xthedevistatorx: Sorry for your luck. I'm a long time (early adopter) Amazon customer, and I've NEVER had a problem that they didn't take care of satisfactorily for me. I don't need the "face to face" interaction that some do. I order enough so that Amazon "Prime" is an incredible deal!

My name is Lou Briccant, and yes, I'm an Amazon whore.

vote-for1vote-against

@promyst: All the cartoons they are going to have on sale are funny. I watch Family Guy, the Simpsons, and the Boondocks on a regular but there is no selection. When I clicked the movies part of the sale, all I saw were collections of tv series not any movies.

As for the PC games. I'm sure there are great games on the PC but having a sale that has no console games and all PC games is garbage.

vote-for5vote-against

@xthedevistatorx: I have to say though, Amazon has amazing customer support. Just this morning I had an issue with an order and it was solved via email in less than two hours. They also have phone support available which I've used too, and the problem was solved super easy, and actually better than I expected.

vote-for3vote-against

@biannca: Agreed. Always super easy and quickly resolved. ymmv.

vote-for4vote-against

@nmtytykty: How do we report spammers like you to the authorities? :)

vote-for1vote-against

@gillegra
dude's name is Cyril, not Zero. Just a heads up.

vote-for1vote-against

@furbearingmammal: I went to the site he posted and my McAfee security protection says this site is suspicious and to use it at my own risk. Looks like a site that sells fake Jordans.

vote-for2vote-against

@furbearingmammal: Already done :). But.. Tattle "Other" on a deal they've spammed.

Look at comment time under the posters name in the comment, it's an active link (e.g. under @thomdong it says "13 minutes ago") Right click the time and "Copy Link Address." That's a direct link to the comment (or spam :D).

Sometimes I try to throw in a few helpful links to make their jobs easier (to their comments/deals or whatever). Figure it'll make verifying that it's a spam account a little easier.

[edit]
Quick on the draw, as always WOPs...much obliged

vote-for0vote-against

Agree on the first floor statement

vote-for1vote-against

@jawwaad: Wow. I just looked at the games, not only do they have no games other than PC, the games they DO have on sale suck.

I don't mean the games suck...what I mean is that I (and anyone else who's ever played a PC game) owned every one of those games before the end of the '90s lol

vote-for1vote-against

@drchops: That's exactly what I was talking about. I know the games are good but they are all old PC games. Nothing to have on a featured sale and then the prices are average prices. I'm not sure who comes up with the products Best Buy plans to have on sale but they should be fired. Everytime I see a Best Buy sale, it always has maybe one game that is a good price.

off-topic

@loubriccant: Lou Briccant? Like Lubricant?

vote-for1vote-against

@jawwaad: Haha alright I see what you mean now

vote-for1vote-against

It says the sale is on, and they are exactly the same as before the "sale". $60 for Starcraft II. What a discount!

Edit: ok, Apparently you click on the item and it shows the discount. So Starcraft II is $49.99 instead of $59.99. Still $10 more expensive than amazon

vote-for2vote-against

@slapshot579: Now that's kinda personal, don't you think?

vote-for4vote-against

nothing to see here, move along.....

vote-for1vote-against

@jawwaad: Don't apologize PC games DO suck.

vote-for2vote-against

As said above, go to Amazon. They have the same deals plus they give you free shipping (for $25+ or Prime).

Sales were kind of disappointing though.

vote-for3vote-against

Purchased first three seasons of The Venture Bros.
Got to spend my store credit!

vote-for1vote-against

Refurbished Wii for $129.99? $30 off?? With wii Sports? Um, regular price brand new is $149.99 at Target. And, the refurb price special deal is Gamestop's regular price for refurb Wii.

@xthedevistatorx: I've bene ordering from Amazon for 4 years, and I've never had a problem that wasn't solved quickly and without issue. I buy everything from cereal to clothing to HDMI cables and Blu-rays on there. I've even sold things on Amazon with no issues!

vote-for2vote-against

got 3 pairs each of 5a and 5b drumsticks and a pair of electric guitar strings for $5.35 with tax and all, this probably would have been $15-$20 on amazon

vote-for1vote-against

Yeah, definitly some disappointing sales...I saw a few good dvd series buts thats about it...

vote-for1vote-against

got starcraft 2 wings of liberty Collectors set, missed, it and its $10 off, and have 3 $10 gift cards, :D

vote-for1vote-against

when every one clicks on the link what icon do you hit at that page, because I think you are supose to hit the outlet icon to go to the deals!

vote-for1vote-against

figures, the aqua teen hunger force dvds are already soldout online and not available for store pickup. if amazon is supposedly matching the bb prices i can't seem to find that - aqhf $10 on bb and $12 on amazon.

vote-for3vote-against

@phrozenphoenix: Maybe we should change the title of this deal to "The Great BBY Drumstick and Guitar String Sale."

vote-for2vote-against

After reading the comments I refuse to even click on the link to see what they have for sale.

How dare you spam my inbox with an email notification about this sale earlier today Best Buy! How dare you!?

vote-for1vote-against

Not worth it. Was about to buy a 46" TV by RCA, but then I checked Amazon. BestBuy was going to charge me taxes and for delivery. On Amazon, those were free. I saved about $150 on Amazon.

vote-for1vote-against

boondocks season 3 for 12 bucks?!? in down for one. F tha haters

vote-for2vote-against

Every time sites like this have weird sale hours or once a month sales for some reason i always expect black-Friday pricing. Unfortunately like an alseimers patient i keep forgetting and i get sucked into it every time.

vote-for1vote-against

Hey, for someone who's remaking a WoW account, this was an amazing sale lol... :P But no seriously, Wrath was on sale for $20 where it's $30-40 everywhere else

vote-for0vote-against

Amazon is matching some deals

vote-for1vote-against

Sale is over, but I see it still shows sale prices for the items you didn't have to add to your cart in order to see the price. $5 bucks for Elixir acoustic guitar strings is a great deal. Those are $10-15 at music stores usually. I would've stocked up on a few sets if I saw this earlier.

vote-for1vote-against

These are not the droids I'm looking for?

vote-for2vote-against

@xthedevistatorx: i have to say amazon has the best customer support of anyone i have every dealt with. i recently got the xbox slim with the $50 amazon credit. i forgot to add my 1600 xbox points when i checked out. i contaced them and they couldn't add the points, but they credited $20 to my amazon account. the credit didn't show up so i called them up to let them know. they said, sorry, here's a credit for $30 for the trouble. the next day both credits showed up in my account for a grand total of $50. when i notified them of their mistake, they said to keep it and thanked me for my business. so in short, i paid $200 for a new xbox, and amazon gave me $100 back. amazon does indeed kick ass
