This is more of an Aborigine instrument, not so much a "g'day mate!" instrument.
47 inches is a short one though...
I wanna see a deal for a seven or eight foot one (with free shipping!) :)
A dingo ate my baby!
Here is me messing around with mine!

How about you Didgeridon't?
Have to advise against this. Had bamboo didg myself and they don't last long. The more you use it, the more the moisture from your lungs is going to make this thing crack and split.
Either get a PVC made didg, which is cheaper, or spend the extra money on a Eucalyptus one.
According to Penn and Teller's show, "Tell a Lie", learning to play one of these properly is a permanent cure for snoring and leads to a better night's sleep. Might be worth the purchase just to learn to play it and get the health benefits.
If I could get it for $20 shipped I'd totally be on this for freaking out coworkers, but that extra $10 kills it for me :3
@baqui63: "47 inches is a short one though..."
THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!
@javyn: I have a friend that swears by the PVC too. There are probably didg enthusiasts who swear bamboo gives a "warmer" sound...whatever that means.
Well the PVC is definitely louder, and like I said cheaper. A bamboo didg isn't good for much other than a decoration though IMO. Once it cracks or spits, the volume is going to drop.
Real Eucalyptus didgeridoos are the best, because the branch has been hollowed out by termites naturally, which means it's not completely hollow like the manufactured ones.
This leads to lots of backpressure, requiring you to use less lungpower.
This should come with 2 Vuvuzuelas for the backup band.
@clrobertson: Ah... you beat me to that joke!
Synthetic, 51", and $29.99 with shipping. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0033PQVPM/ref=mp_s_a_2?qid=1322853681&sr=8-2
Here's a beginning "How to" on playing your didgeridoo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgXZkFBlOXU
Apparently the Aborigine believe women should not play them because it will make them infertile. Too bad I was told this AFTER I got one a couple of years ago!!
In for one, why not? The designs on them look cool, so even if I can't grasp playing it, it'll look good on the wall ;)
@caluth: Damn you're pretty good! I bought an real one from an Aborigine family during my time down under. Paid more than this for sure, but it's certainly not made of bamboo either.
