Sweet - I'm in for three! One for my pocket, one for the glove compartment, and another for my other pocket! Oh, wait... won't fit in my pocket, will it?

vote-for2vote-against

Probably depends on what sort of pants you wear. I'm sure a pair of UFOs would handle it with room to spare; I used to know a guy who brought his PS2 to school in one of those pockets.

vote-for4vote-against

@thesporkwithin: I suppose that's true... I do have some awesome cargo pants with pockets big enough to hide a midget (no offence intended, but it makes for great imagery, right?!). And my slim PS2 is pretty much only the size of two DVD cases... So, if my pant pockets are big enough, the PS2 weighs as much as a duck, and floats...?

Shipping kills this deal. $6.95 is too much to be throwing around like that.

vote-for2vote-against

wow $11.50 per tool. what a bargain :D

vote-for1vote-against

This is a must have with my ninja spikes.

vote-for2vote-against

This is just ridiculous.

vote-for3vote-against

This is just what I needed to build a nuclear bomb from a belgian waffle. Signed McGiver...

vote-for2vote-against

All that and a knife blade, too ??

vote-for1vote-against

7 pounds? I'll wait for the carbon fiber & titanium version to come out.

vote-for1vote-against

@kevskoolkars: 7 pounds? This baby is a svelte 2 pounds 11 ounces!

vote-for1vote-against

@thesporkwithin: Says "Item Dimensions
Weight: 7 Pounds"...

I see the technical details also which says 2 pounds 11 ounces.

Then again below that it says "Product Dimensions: 11.8 x 10.8 x 4.3 inches ; 7 pounds"

And lastly "Shipping Weight: 6.6 pounds"

So which is it? there cant be 4 1/2 pounds of packing...

vote-for1vote-against

Seems to have the fewest actual functions of any Swiss army knife, considering that with this form factor using any knife or screwdriver would be impossible, maybe you could use the scissors.

vote-for1vote-against

Did anyone notice the keychain ring on the bottom left side of it? Who's really going to put this on a key chain...would be the greatest key chain of all!!

vote-for2vote-against

for those trying to become edward scissor hands in one fell swoop.

vote-for1vote-against

lame in so many ways, the person that thought this up should be shot. not practical, huge and awkward. now if the stuff would detach maybe but still why when you could buy a whole chest of tools for that awesome low price of 999

vote-for2vote-against

It's not meant to be practical. It's an expensive conversation piece.

vote-for2vote-against

Do you think this would make it past TSA? :P

Everyone that I know that carries one of these complains of the size of this tool. But they quickly retract their words when I ask them to take a moment and think back to a few weeks before they purchased their Wenger 16999 Swiss Army Knife. Remember how heavy the 87 tools that they carried around with them were. Remember how awkward that was. Then the size of this magnificent tool is no longer questioned.

The moment this tool's value became truly apparent to me was the time I was camping with God. And He turned to me and said, "Hey man, can I borrow your knife for this thing I'm doing." A tear ran down my cheek as I handed Him my knife. I knew it was in good hands and that He'd treat it well.

Now its up to you where you're gonna spend your next $999.00 but let me tell you this, If I can get my family though the next two months with no groceries and they don't foreclose on my house for not making my mortgage payment, I'm buying myself another one of these babies.

vote-for1vote-against

You would need a briefcase to carry that thing around...

Can you imagine going through airport security with that? HAHA

vote-for0vote-against

how is it useful its larger than an actual knife. I think it looses is purpose when you need a backpack to carry it.

vote-for1vote-against

If only it had a usb flash drive.

vote-for1vote-against

If it was smaller I'd be in for 2, unfortunately my hands are too small.

vote-for1vote-against

it doubles as a theft protector. just smack anyone over the head with it and you'll be safe for years

vote-for2vote-against

So thats what was on the back of Johnny 5 ...

vote-for1vote-against

...by my counts, there are at least a dozen knifes on this wonderful, mindblowing, essential tool. That means!.....honestly I don't know what it means...you can cut a lot of (mod edit: profanity)

vote-for1vote-against

Hell, I have five of these badasses! Might as well get two more, that way I have one for each day of the week!

vote-for0vote-against

Wait a minute! i didnt see a corkscrew on this thing! how am i supposed to open my wine! my whole night is gone now.

vote-for1vote-against

this gets funnier every time...

vote-for1vote-against

I WANT IT SO BADLY!!! I'll see if I can get everyone to chip in for my birthday :D
@rainbowbear19: Corkscrew is on the bottom at the closer end.

vote-for2vote-against

vote-for1vote-against

So multi-functional, it's non-functional.

vote-for1vote-against

...sled down a hill on it...stop a bullet with it...holds your passport...replace tiles on the space shuttle...

that's utility!

vote-for2vote-against

I got it for $899 with free shipping here:

I can't tell you how many times it has saved my life!

vote-for1vote-against

In a pinch, this would be a good antenna as well! Probably a decent heat sink... At 2 pounds plus, in an emergency you could melt this tool down and cast it into any full size actually useful implement you can think of. Too many uses to count!

vote-for2vote-against

go to sears and buy the same Craftsman tools listed on this knife. It will only cost you about 300 bucks and theres always a lifetime return on them.Try returning this knife if you strip the teeth off the phillips screwdriver.

vote-for1vote-against

Will it work with a Mac?

vote-for1vote-against

Im in for one....but can anyone tell me if its child proof?

vote-for1vote-against

Are any of you reading the seriously funny reviews on amazon on this? "I pulled out my giant wenger and both the ladies fainted." Comedic gold I tell ya.

vote-for1vote-against

Can I still grip this?

vote-for1vote-against

@otimm: Who the heck is McGiver? It's MacGyver!!

@kitaman:
I'm pretty sure that any hand that can be traced on standard letter-size paper is going to be too small for this monstrosity!

I'm betting this is intended for a rather narrow demographic... like field-operative physicists who can also palm a 16lb bowling ball. Maybe if Dolph Lundgren worked for the Pheonix Foundation... maybe THAT could be their target market!
