It's a good deal, but the subtitles will be in British.

In for 2.

vote-for28vote-against

@delfairen: the 33.62 price includes shipping.

vote-for16vote-against

@honestmonkey: here's the breakdown:

£17.08 (lower price shows up on last screen) + £3.08 shipping (to US) = £20.16 or $33.62 USD

vote-for14vote-against

I pre-ordered this almost a year back from Amazon UK. Arrived about a week after its release. It's region free and will play in any Blu-Ray player. Additionally, Amazon has a fixed cost for shipping DVDs to the USA which is around $5.00 USD. Note that the quoted price for the DVD includes English VAT (value added tax) which is not charged when the item is shipped out of the country…like to the USA, so it's a bit lower than you'll see on screen. Excellent buy.

vote-for12vote-against

@delfairen: Actually, the priced listed above is the price including shipping. This is the cheapest that this set has ever been on BR.

vote-for8vote-against

@mrwizzy2002: The total you came to is the same total as what OP posted. You get charged shipping, the OP included this in the original price, it's a great deal, buy it!

vote-for6vote-against

So just to make sure, since it's region-free I won't have any problems playing this on my US blu-ray player, right?

vote-for5vote-against

Still worked for me just now, $33.64 shipped to the US. Will arrive after Christmas most likely, but I don't care. Only "problem" I can tell is that movie #1 will be called "Philosopher's Stone" not "Sorcerer's Stone" like in the US. I can't imagine this being a problem really for any fan of the books or movies.

Also, I'm sure that my bank will probably charge me a 3% fee for this overseas transaction, and more than likely, yours will too. Keep that in mind when you see a charge on your account for slightly more than the $33.64 promised. Hope I'm wrong, but they always have in the past...

Finally, I saw someone mention that PAL or NTSC doesn't matter for Blu-Ray, and that is correct. But, as far as I know, there are still Regions for Blu-Ray. The US is Region A while Europe is Region B. Doesn't matter for this deal since these are Region Free, but I saw some comments and thought they were't entirely clear...

vote-for5vote-against

@markdaspark: that link is for the set on DVD.... The UK dealis Blu-ray

vote-for4vote-against

@jmcautomatic: For what it's worth...I got the Avengers 6-disc "region free" box set from Amazon UK a couple montha ago and all the discs played fine in my US LG Blu-Ray player

vote-for4vote-against

@songbirdjhs: this is bluray, so PAL vs NTSC does not apply. See here

vote-for4vote-against

Just bought it and the total was the price OP posted.

vote-for3vote-against

Even with expedited shipping I am paying $93 USD to get 2 copies before Christmas. If you are shopping for a Harry Potter fan, that's $40 cheaper than the US version and the British version is SOOO much more hipster than the American. They totally say "philosopher" instead of "sorcerer" in the first movie.

vote-for2vote-against

@songbirdjhs: Well unless he/she has changed the title since posting, its Region Free.

vote-for2vote-against

Im in the US(Florida) and checkout went through without any problem for me. I almost bought this for my wife the other day for christmas at $66 or whatever, pretty stoked about this deal.

vote-for2vote-against

Hmm, that is cheap! Clearly it is in the crown's best interest to subsidize this series and ensure every household in the UK has a copy.

vote-for2vote-against

I almost blew it off because of the people who said the deal was over, but ...since I haven't seen most of the movies I checked it out and it went through for 33.62 :) Now I need to get a BIG bag of popcorn!

vote-for2vote-against

The deal is still working. I just ordered.

I too saw a higher price than some on here, but it depends on what seller Amazon "selects" for you. Don't forget to click on the "27 new from £20.50" link to see other offers. The 20.50 one is the official Amazon.co.uk seller, and the one that is giving the $33 USD after shipping deal.

And in short, yes the deal still works. I got mine on its way. As the brits say, Jolly Good!

vote-for2vote-against

The deal is still on, so the wife will be happy for Christmas. Now, what else to get her???

vote-for2vote-against

@dfunk29: Shipping isn't free, but the price in the title INCLUDES the cost of shipping.

vote-for2vote-against

@dfunk29: I just went thru it again and the final price at the end is $33.60. Be sure you're choosing Amazon UK seller and the Standard Shipping.

vote-for2vote-against

@dfunk29: Click on the AmazonUK seller link. It will have $20.50 price (will be less on final order page). Then choose Standard Shipping....not Priority. It will end up as $33.60 on final page.

vote-for2vote-against

@dfunk29: Great....glad to help! It's a great deal since we're getting 3 extra DVDs (11 disc set) compared to the US version with only 8 discs (no extras....only the 8 movies) for over twice the price!!

vote-for1vote-against

Hmm.. I got the DVDs for $10 from target a week ago, so I can't decide if I really need these. But it's such a great price.. Are the BluRays worth it?

vote-for1vote-against

@thiney49: They are if you have a hi def television.

vote-for1vote-against

For anyone that likes languages, this set has about 10 audio tracks from French to Japanese, and around 28 subtitle tracks for various languages. I recently discovered this on my set I bought a few months back.

vote-for1vote-against

Deal looks dead. Now says 42.49 and when you take it through to the last screen the price remains the same.

vote-for1vote-against

Go into other buying options and choose amazon.co.uk

vote-for1vote-against

@ror2001: you sure you don't have 2 in your cart or something? i'm still getting the 33.62 price.

vote-for1vote-against

It's back and then gone again! They must have had a limited number, because when I tried to buy it earlier it say "only 2 left in stock". I went back a few minutes later and got it for the $33.62 price, but it says it won't arrive until after Christmas, which is fine by us.

Estimated dispatch: 15 Dec 2012 - 19 Dec 2012
This item will arrive after 25 Dec 2012.

However, I went back and checked it again after I checked out and it's back up to the $75 price. So, you might just have to keep going back and forth checking.

vote-for1vote-against

@carl669: I def only had 1 in there. Who knows why it keeps changing. If you click on the "28 new from" link, you can get it to pop up the $33 version. When I first went it took me to a seller who had it for $75. I went back later and it was on a different seller for the $33 price.

Doesn't matter any more, at least to me, as I got it for the sale price.

vote-for1vote-against

@skunkmonkey: it's even cheaper (by only $1.01 after local taxes) than the price I paid for the 8 individual movies on black friday at $3.96 each--i almost did it, but decided i didn't need the extra features and could save time & money by not having to drive back to wal-mart

vote-for1vote-against

I bought this set the last time it was listed and it won't play on any of the 4 Blu-Ray players I have.

vote-for1vote-against

Even though it said $20.50 price I decided to try to go thru the full order process to see if the final paage would be the better price....and it worked!! Got it for the $33.62. Thanks for those saying to try.

vote-for1vote-against

This is a great deal! It is also still live in case anyone is curious. Just ordered with total $33.62 USD! Thanks OP!

vote-for1vote-against

I pulled the trigger. Decided it was just too good a price to pass up, so I really really hope that they do play on our blu-ray or it's going to suck.

vote-for1vote-against

They should I buy dvd's and blu rays off the UK site all the time. They generally list the region free stuff correctly. Time and again they will have stuff out of stock in the states or music and movies that are not stateside yet.

Very good deal I am in for one.

vote-for1vote-against

Yep, still working! Total with standard shipping to US = 20.16 GBP = $33.62 USD! SCORE! Thank you, OP!

vote-for1vote-against

This is a great deal! Bought it around this time last year or early this year (hard to remember). Less than $40 for the series is a steal!

vote-for1vote-against

I bought these from the UK about a month ago. Great price and you get the movies as the book intended. ex. Philosopher instead of Sorcerer. Very happy with this purchase.

vote-for1vote-against

Amazon allowed me to place the order in USD so there should be no fee...

vote-for1vote-against

I ordered mine a couple weeks ago and just got it today (I'm in California). Estimated delivery time was Dec 3rd, so was a little worried considering there's no tracking # when they ship. So if you live on the west coast and yours is late, wait a few days.

vote-for1vote-against

Just tried it. Price as quoted. In for 1. Thanks all!

vote-for1vote-against

@pgoldberg:Plus the UK blu set is 11 dvds with 3 discs of extras....while US version costs 2x as much for only 8 dvds without extras (just the 8 movies)!
