"12' foot" is redundant, unless you're taking about a 12 foot long foot, in which case you should try out for a basketball team.

These are a little wimpy for a car unless you are driving a compact and are jumping another compact. Wire gauge numbers get lower as the diameter gets larger. Try to get 8 or below to avoid melting your cables with normal cars.

Ditto what stazja01 said. These are too small for car use. I carry a set of 10-guage cables on my motorcycle but would not try them on a car unless there was no other option.

I have some 10-gauge jumper cables that I cut the ends off and I'm using for my home theater sub. Cheaper than Monster brand!
