Let's see who can say " Toy Boat ", five times fast out loud without messing up.

Get them for Mother's Day & Father's Day - seriously! I gave my retired in-laws RC boats for their birthdays and they're having a blast with them. They're even going to join an RC boat club.

I had a similarly priced RC boat as a kid. It was a highlight of my childhood.

If this one is anything like the one I had, it won't work well in swimming pools because the water is very choppy (relative to the size of the boat).

Doesn't seem like it would me all that long to get a fish that would take off with my boat.

@jseureau: That was too cute :)
1!
@lastapeman A fish stealing a boat like this? Finding Nemo 2 is writing itself. Whodunnit? Koi-dunno.

Talk about good timing, just bought a Betta fish aquarium at the pet store. I'm sure Blue Fin won't mind.

(Just Kidding)...

I knew when I was little, I LOVED boats in the tub. Maybe my little cousin will, too? Let's find out!

I love Radio controlled boats on Woot, bought 2 RC jet skiis years ago for $15 each (one is still in the box but I pulled the battery out to use with the first). Then bought 3 more later for my brother-in-laws. They are cool because they can't crash like planes and helicopters. It's been a while since I've seen any on woot, so I'm in for 2. They need to see about selling more.

I may try fishing with this but I will just have the line loosely attached, so when a fish grabs it I can set the hook and it will detach from the boat.

It seems a little light to be able to hold on to anything more than a couple lbs. but it's still a cute idea to keep little kids interested.

Tempted to buy this and put Lego mini-figures on the boat...

hmmmm was going to buy a couple to use on the lake this summer until I read the reviews on Amazon. Mind you the Amazon one is rechargeable but the prob seems to be with the boat's hull and water shorting out the engine. Apparently customer service and their warranty is a joke. The price here is amazing but my son would be very sad if it worked only once like the reviewers claim.

OK, I finally got to watch the video of it in action, and now I HAVE TO HAVE ONE! Even if it just works once, my family will have an amazing time with it. The 3 yr old will love watching it, and my dad and husband will probably do something stupid like try and use it while we are out in our boat on the ocean. This sounds like hours of entertainment to me!

This works in chlorinated swimming pool?

vote-for3vote-against

Would be a nightmare if this was out there and something large like a big old northern pike took the bait and headed off with the boat, taking it out of range. No fish, no boat and me standing there with my remote in my hand!

@eastpa: Yes but fishing usually stinks in a swimming pool!

@lastapeman: That's why you use the included tether line.

@jmbunkin: That's why you use the include tether line.

I'd pay extra for a drag-controlled spindle so I can troll with 2 lb line. Looks like fun though!

vote-for3vote-against

@zollars23: The tether line (as noted in the write-up) is as much to get around laws that require you to actually have a fishing line attached to you. I know that's true in Minnesota...

Always wanted an RC boat as a kid.

bwhahahahahha
I just got in from a loooooong day outside and saw this

Thank the Lawd It wasnt sold out.

Used to lay back on the bank of the lake with my fishin' buds and talk about how cool it would be to have a RC boat that you could troll a lure out where the fish really were....

set the hook x2

PS: got a really terrible bag of crapolation in today....does Thunder Thighs really beleive that I am 3xxxlg? - that makes two of those T shirts in the last 2 BOCS

My buddies and I all pitched in and ordered 3 of these cool little boats. It says there are 3 frequencies available but a choice was never given at checkout. Do I have 3 seperate frequencies being delivered?? Id hate to have them arrive only to find out we cant boat/fish together.

Just got my daily sellout.woot.com email 15 min ago (Monday May 7) and it shows the RC bass fisher boat... Which I want. But when I click on today's woot link, it shows a knife. And when I look at the blog, the remote control boat was actually on sale on Saturday a few days ago... What's the deal? How do I get the boat? Not sure whether to post this under today's Woot/Blog post or Saturdays Blog post. so I'm posting it twice. Damn monkeys screwed up the emails!

vote-for1vote-against

@jas0ncarr0ll: I got that email earlier today as well (2 days late). I also got an email at noon for today's woot when I normally get it at 11pm the night before.

Got mine delivered today. Seems to be a problem with one of the motors. Anyone else having problems? Tried calling the number in the manual today, but received busy signal all day.

vote-for1vote-against

Bought this on Woot. Was looking forward to trying it out with my son for the first time today but the motor seems locked up. I've tried two sets of new batteries and no go. It was also missing the antenna 'Ranger' flag. It's not the actual antenna, just a plastic sleeve that covers the antenna connected to the boat. A plastic piece on the boat that covers the forward section was also broken loose. Superglue fixed that though. Anyway, I have an email in to Woot customer service and hope for a refund/replacement soon. Good luck to other buyers!

@gguynes: Same here. Emailed Woot and waiting for reply.
