10-year shelf life makes these great for disaster-preparedness kits.

$4.99 shipping for 1 pack kills the deal. Close to $10 for 2 packs... no thanks.

Useful as slingshot ammo, useless for powering electronics.

Am I the only one who saw the thumbnail picture and thought "buckyballs!"?

Even at $7 for a 24 pack, you aren't going to find a much better deal shipped to you.

At $6.98 a 24/pack for ZINC CARBON batteries, this is far from a deal.

Dollar Tree has 4-pack ALKALINE batteries for $1.00 everyday (thats $6.00 a 24/pack). Zinc-Carbon batteries are the low end of usefulness - they leak VERY easy, only are good for low drain items such as remotes, clocks, and flashlights, and do not last long when stored improperly.

The 10-year shelf life stated on the 1SaleADay decription is flat out wrong. Radio Shack says shelf life is around 18 months for Zinc Carbon, and Philips themselves states a maximum 3 year shelf life on these.

Just to give everyone an idea of how "not-good" these are.. do you guys remember how much everybody was saying those "Heavy Duty" batteries on Woot! sucked? Well these are a STEP DOWN from those :).. here, I even got a Wikipedia page to prove it:

"The zinc chloride cell is an improvement on the original zinc–carbon cell, using purer chemicals and giving a longer life and steadier voltage output as it is used. These cells are often marketed as heavy-duty cells, to differentiate them from general-purpose zinc–carbon cells," - Wikipedia

@thecoolster4: lol What the hell does that even mean?

@thecoolster4: Hmmm, it seems you are "b!tchin" about the "complainin". You must play too much Gameboy.

This is not a deal as far as I am concerned. The price, while it seems good, does not take into account how long the batteries have been sitting on the shelf slowing draining down the feeble power they have to begin with.

Add to that the shipping charge(no pun intended)and that kills the deal completely for me.

vote-for5vote-against

I guess shipping [slowly puts shades on] is the strongest charge these batteries have.

@thecoolster4: You're not playin' too much gameboy with THESE batteries!

@tdubya79: lmao. I call it nerd trolling. Put out a nerdy reference, see how many fellow nerds get it, then call them on being nerdy. You, my friend, just lost the game.
