All I can think about when I see this is the South Park episode from a couple seasons back where the Margaritaville maker is involved.

He (or she) who is both patient and thorough might find this for $97-129 (new) as I did a few months back.

@twerp02: one of the greatest episodes - http://www.southparkstudios.com/full-episodes/s13e03-margaritaville

consider me one of those "materialistic heathens"...in for one!

Wait, so all this does is measure the ice? And that's worth like $150 more than a regular blender?

vote-for1vote-against

You have got to be kidding. That better mow my lawn and give me a hot shave in the morning at that price.

To be fair, even industrial blenders have a rough time of it when having to chop ice on a regular basis. Imagine driving your car down the freeway alternating stomping on the gas and the brake pedal. Actually, I think I've been behind that lady, but the point is, making more than one or two ice blended drinks requires a heavy-duty setup. Presumably, that would be why this one costs as much as it does... that and it's got fancy extras.

Not that I'd buy one, of course.. I'm holding out for the salsa dispenser model.

I have a Margaritaville machine...mine is the 18V battery powered and I absolutely love it! Perfect for the camper, boat, etc. HOWEVER, with that said, this is NOT a deal!! I got mine for $150 - 1/2 price sale. You can do better - $250 is the standard price for these things in many stores.

Jimmy Buffett gets a royalty check every time something with 'Margaritaville' on it gets sold. It's called licensing. That's why there's so much overpriced Margaritaville crap out there. Same goes for Don Ed Hardy crap.

Yea this is not a deal at all. I say this same model at the Christmas Tree shop for $145 last fall.

@robinbobcat: You can buy a decent ice shaver and a blender separately for less than $100. Probably less than $75 if they're on sale.

I should probably note though that personally, I prefer my margaritas on the rocks rather than blended, so my opinion is that the whole concept is unnecessary.

Overrated and grossly overpriced. We had them at BB&Beyond and many were returned.

The pricing in the post is wrong, the link goes to a $149 Bahama's version, not the Key West (Which is at $219)...

The product is great, my father has one, makes great blended drinks.
Don't be surprised that it's very loud while grinding the ice.

@thefenst - it is going to the correct one now. Also, pricing is fixed. Thanks.

The one on South Park had a salsa dispenser! Why would I but that obsolete piece! Man now if I can find a 200 dollar toaster to match it...

For $50 and a trip to Goodwill, you could make one of these much more functional blenders: http://www.instructables.com/id/Gas-Powered-Blender/

I picked up one of these from Linens n Things when they went out of business. there was a $50 rebate and I paid $45 after all was said and done. It works really well.
