Lookout mobile security also can locate your phone, has antivirus and backup, and is free.

The buck is worth it. Hop on their site afterwards and click Hide, then reboot the phone so if it gets stolen people won't realize you're tracking the device.

@antipode: Just upgraded to the Droid 2. Should be here tomorrow. I'm not in the habit of losing things, but this looks very appealing to me - even at the regular price!!

And Lookout works on everything from 1.6 up (in the very least. Maybe even earlier).

@ojulius: Yeah, while I've never lost a phone before I can't afford to start now. Just got my Evo Shift on Friday.

I've been looking for a good lost phone recovery app & this one has all the bells & whistles with a clean GUI. I also like how, compared to other apps, this app doesn't rely on text messages. N41!

Lookout is free, but you need premium to wipe your phone. On the up side, you can pay for premium on their website when that happens. I love lookout, and have used the scream feature to find my phone while on silent or vibrate a few times.

I just use where's my droid, it's free

doesn't have all the bells and whistles but it tells me where my phone is.

Decent looking app. Definitely going to put this on my wife's Droid. We have a Squaretrade warranty that is great, but does not prevent against loss or theft. This helps give a little more peace of mind.

Seek Droid >> Wheres My Droid. Web interface, no SMS crap, more features.

I just bought it and works great. It has no monthly/yearly fees like Lookout does for the Wipe and Lock options.

This looks like a good deal. I've been using Prey, which is free and functional, but this one seems to have some advantages. I like that it takes measures to hide itself, and you can block installs, I assume also, uninstalls?
