I've owned one of these for about two years now. I love it. The only downside is that some of my keys are showing signs of use, but that's really not surprising for as much as I use it. It's not the quietest keyboard, so don't expect silent keystrokes. Personally, that doesn't bother me. It has built in media controls and you can switch between fully lit, WASD or unlit with the touch of button, literally. This is less than half what I paid for it when I got it, btw. Maybe I'll buy another. :P

I got one of these in a bag of crap from woot a few months ago. It does tend to not register keystrokes on occasion, and periodically it will randomly decide not to accept any input from a random key. If you don't unplug the usb connections and reattach them, this key deletion just gets worse and worse.

Other than that, it's great! It is very solid and obviously well made. I'm sure that the adaptations they have put into it for gaming are extremely convenient for the gamers.

Bought one a few years back and it was a tank. Lasted great for about a year until I just wore it out gaming. Bought another that lasted 2 weeks..returned that one for another that lasted a week. Use a g15 now. There's a known issue w/ the media key on these keyboards so i HIGHLY suggest you look this matter up before spending your money. Their CS was very helpful I will give them that, but even they knew what was wrong the second i described my issue w/ it.Just remember when it goes bad you have to cut the cord and send it back to them...meaning your out of a keyboard until you get the replacement from them.

i bought one about a year ago, no problems at all with the keys not registering or anything such. The problem I have is the light sensor button for media player is so sensitive that a flash from an explosion turns on the media player sometimes crashing the game or just being annoying. My solution has been to never use that key and just cover it up.

I got another of these keyboards just now as a backup, and to use with my net book because that keyboard is completely borked. Perfect timing woot!

I have (had) one of these and it was nothing but a headache. I would have to cycle the USB plug at least once a day because a random key would cease to function.

I currently purchased this new about a year ago and use this as my main keyboard some points of interest to a potential buyer:

- The media panel and macros (or anything provided in the control center )never worked for me. my keyboard was not one of the Recalled models. Furthermore, the light features (attached to the media panel, not a switch) work only on occasion when I pick up the keyboard and press firmly This means that the lings on my keyboard go on and off as they please.

-- I've had problems, and still occasionally do, with keys repeating endlessly, or stop working which requires a USB plug/ unplug. This fixes the problem every time, but the duration of this fix varies.

--- I am most frustrated about the RMA process / support, as I had a terrible experience. Keep your receipts, and get ready to ask woot for a record of the sale before you try to RMA.

Technical/company problems aside - I like this keyboard.

I would say to avoid this keyboard as the media keys rarely work and it's so hard to see the letters unless you are looking straight down at them.

but that is at the normal price

this price makes up for the shortcomings

I bought one of these about a half a year ago, and took it back to the store within a month. Do a little research and you'll find out that a large number of people with this keyboard had a lot of issues with it, mine included. There were several times where certain keys would just stop working entirely, and short of restarting my PC, I couldn't fix it. Another very annoying issue with mine, and some others I've seen comments about, is that it will randomly open Windows Media Player. A lot of people assume it's caused by sensitive keys. It's not. It's just a bug with the keyboard itself, or the software that comes with it.

If you buy one and get one that happens to work properly, then you got a pretty awesome deal, but just be aware that a large number of these have issues.

I have gamed with this keyboard for over a yr. I have never once had any issues with it at all. No missed keystrokes or buttons not working. 1 of the best keyboards I have ever used.

At least I am not the only one who seems to have no problems really, and the keys are not hard to see at all unless back light is off, if it is off it's near impossible to see. Who buys a kb that is back lit and doesn't use the feature though?
Stinks so many have had problems cause I really am glad I chose it, and it prodded me to get another

I've had this keyboard for a little less than a year and am not very happy with it. When all is working okay, it's great. However, I frequently have to do the plug/unplug or even a restart to fix the key not working issue. This is unacceptable, especially for a gaming keyboard. Who the heck wants to restart their computer in the middle of a game? It cannot be relied upon.

Bought one and would not buy another. Under moderate use, keys quit working. Also, connection cables on mine are very short and have to buy an extender.

I've been waiting for this, too. I heart my Razer mouse, and my Saitek Eclipse 2 is wearing out! Fingers crossed for no weird key issues!

I bought one of these and immediately the keys would start switching from WASD mode to full keyboard backlight, then the touch controls would go crazy or stop working, keys would stick and more.

The audio jacks are cheap and you need to wiggle them to get your headphones to work correctly.

The cables are HUGE and very stiff so it is hard to route them.

Razer would not replace it because it was not a certain series of serial numbers.

Not worth the price.

Same as others. Random keys stopped working requiring a re-boot or at least pulling the USB cord. Tech service had many suggestions, none of which worked. Went with a Logitech (G11) which has been great. While I have had good success with Razer mice, I would never buy one of their keyboards again.

Bought one of these during a Woot off. Keys stop working VERY often, touch keys for backlighting are unresponsive. Unplugging and reinserting USB cables seems to correct this, for a few days anyhow.

Other than that, it's a great keyboard. Great feel and responsiveness from the keys and I especially like that the blue LED isn't hyper bright. Still, if a keyboard is going to take up two USB ports on my machine, I want it to work 100% of the time - just bought a Logitech Illuminated to replace it.

Does NOT work with KVM. Key lights are off by default when system is first powered on and unless you know where the button is to turn the key lights on its impossible to see. This makes all of the keys near impossible to see in a low light environment. Keys stop working at random and require a disconnect and reconnect from the USB port. I bought this new because I have had a lot of success with other razer products in the past. This one is a big hunking pile of dung. Stay away, I wouldn't but this thing to 50 cents...

Confirming what others have been saying...I picked one of these up from a woot off, and randomly, keys simply stop working. replugging the USB cable solves the issue, but even at this price point, that shouldn't be required.

Apart from that issue, it's a great keyboard. Nice touch.

The newer models of this don't have any issues. Razor only recalled the boards made in late '07 and early '08. My GF just bought one and it was made a few months ago - the lighting is perfect and so are all the keys.

Of course, she paid more than this. Damn you Woot!

vote-for2vote-against

I must have one of the newer models because I don't have any of the issues some of you are having. Great keyboard, great price, love it!

Glad to see Woot getting back in touch with our computer needs. We like our Roombas, Sansas, BBQ tools, Brevillizers, pork flavored lollipops, et cetera; but we wooters always want to spiff up a PC or server.

I'v had one of these for about a year and have had no problems at all with it. The only thing I would mention is that out of the box, one of the little foot stand thingys was missing. Could have just been a shipping hazard though.

vote-for1vote-against

at the wooting it cost $5 more, so this is a better deal if you want one
