the discussion of this deal on another website indicated that this website was scammy. Can those who know how to determine these things lend a hand?

And it seems that Amazon carries them as well. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=udder+covers&x=0&y=0

A quick glance around the web shows the s/h runs around $8 and $9.

sounds like they don't use a secure server. I would just use the paypal option.

vote-for4vote-against

They have a three-year domain registration without a "private registration".

They do use a secure server for order processing.

BBB rating: "A", with 12 complaints in the last 36 months, and all 12 of them resolved. For comparison, Woot has a "C-".

See also http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/frugalista/2009/11/free-udder-cover-follow-up.html for more into the company.

The ones that appear on Amazon are sold by Colonial Medical Assisted Devices, a seller with pretty good Amazon reviews: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/seller/at-a-glance.html?ie=UTF8&seller=A3FTKNZ9RHYKG2.

@perkalicious11: I never heard of this site, good or bad, but it seems others have the details on it.

@perkalicious11: looks like I'm late to the party - poked around a little myself and it seems legit from people posting on babycenter even though there were some concerns
http://community.babycenter.com/post/a23039999/uddercovers.com_scam_update_in_red

If they are backordered it sounds like they don't bother to tell you, which a good way to make people mad (I'm looking at you shirt.woot!)

It's not a scam because I purchased mine last year for $0 plus shipping. The shipping is a little high so I think that is how they make money.

I don't know if it is a scam, but the models on the page don't look like nursing mothers to me. They look like hot chicks that are babysitting for their aunt and playing dress up with the Udder Cover. I bet next they get in her closet and try on her wedding dress.

This is definitely not a scam. I've bought one of these for my wife, and several for friends.

i just got one from this site weeks ago!!!! not a scam awesome deal! i just got 2 more!

Provided your willing to buy from this site, teh deal actual seems pretty good compared to that of the recent kids.woot woot-off which cost $15 w/ shipping:

@perkalicious11: honestly I think the site is kind of a glorified etsy deal. they look they are a step up from being hand crafted. I kind of like the concept, but I don't think I would buy one, I can sew one for a friend if I needed to. Basically it looks like the newest thing to hit the mommy and me fad. Every TV Celeb is going to want one now.

@perkalicious11: My wife just ordered from them. We got the package deal for $14 shipped. A cover, breast pads and a wrist timer. They arrived about a week ago. No evicence of a scam there.

This one does not seem like as nice of a deal. Ours arrived in a $1.25 USPS envelope with more stuff. Just the cover would cost even less to ship. Therefor it seems like a leader item that they are charging a ton to ship you so they can recover some of the costs.

vote-for2vote-against

Y'all are right. You can make them alot less. The breast pads can be easily purchased at Wally World, as any nursing mother already has them because one pair won't be enough, the time an't going to cut it because that it what you have a watch for, duh!!!! I know I can find great cotton prints everywhere and sew up a burp cloth and a pocket to store it in as well to go with mine or my sister's I should say. Then you just get the boning, D rings, and sew up the strap. No problems there!! You can churn these out in an hour once you have them all cut. I would cut them out and just start an assembly line. Can you say EASY!

The real scam is making a woman purchase a product (or purchasing one for her) that has the word udder in it.

@matthewjfazio: Congratulations on your new sibling(s)!

vote-for2vote-against

who has time to make one? buy the fabric, materials, sewing machine (if you don't have one) hours to make... 9 bucks is a DEAL!!! :)

vote-for1vote-against

Yep, not a scam. I have one I got previously since they run this all the time. It's pretty nice for the money. I recently saw breast feeding hats that the baby wears to cover the mom that are cute. Practical? Who knows, can't be much worse than an older baby pulling a cover off. Expensive? Yes. Cute? Yes.

Great Deal. Wish we found this a year and a half ago. Buying one for my wife whan we have our next little one. Promo work just fine.

vote-for1vote-against

Are you kidding it's a glorified poorly made apron!!

vote-for2vote-against

i haven't had any issues... and it works better than an apron...

"Udder Covers"?

It seems pretty bold to go around comparing women who have recently given birth to cows.

Wait - I don't mean that the women gave birth to cows. This is why grammar is important.

Let's try that again:

I think it's dangerous to draw comparisons between cows and women who have recently given birth.

FWIW my wife used something similar (not this brand) but it didn't work very well for her. I've known other mom's who like theirs. $10 shipped is a good price.

Is this product compatible with man-boobs?

vote-for0vote-against

this isn't a scam. i took advantage of this deal when they had it several months ago, which i learned of through babycenter.com. just paid shipping and received it without a hitch. just took advantage of the deal again, since it saves me from paying $32 for the cover.

vote-for1vote-against

not a scam. we bought a set & it's great.

vote-for1vote-against

Did anyone else watch the picture show on the web site? It's the same three women in all the pictures, and they only ever have one baby at a time with them. Are they all nursing the same kid?

vote-for1vote-against

Just bought one as a gift. I hope it goes over well.
