I've bought cheap versions of glass lidded containers and have had them chip regularly on me. Finally bit the bullet and bought the pyrex set when it was on woot not too long ago and have had no problems.

I scored a box of these from the Pirate Booty BOC. The lids were scratched and one glass piece was missing, but regardless, they work great and have been a great addition to my kitchen, replacing a bunch of my older plastic storage containers. The lids work well.

Purchased Snapware Glasslock before, never had a problem with them chipping or anything. But when they say, wash lids on top rack of dishwasher, they mean it...or they'll warp and never go on the bottom again. Best price on the net that I can find and no Menard's around here so I'm down for more.
