My wife and sisters have bought a lot of candles. They say a lot of the less expensive candles either do not smell as nice, as long, or they don't offer the same flavors. But the real problem is that the less expensive candles do not burn down evenly. A lot of them burn down as a straight hole in the middle of a big jar candle. They have had some that do well but they say the Yankee Candles offer the most consistency from candle to candle. And the price when on sale with this offer is $14 for a large jar candle. The girls I know think that's a good price for a good candle.

As far as pricing goes: Walmart sells 20 oz Mainstay jar candles for 30 dollars. The Yankee Candles are 22 oz jar candles for 28 dollars when not on sale.
