"Sorry, the page you requested was not found."
@catbertthegreat: just tried to post the page with 4 different Walkmans. Website doesn't want to play nice.
@patrick427: go ahead and enter "walkman" in the search box and 4 different versions will come up.
@patrick427: The link seriously works for me, not sure why it is breaking for you, here is something to copy/paste...http://www.pcrichard.com/catalog/product.jsp?modelNo=WMFX290W
[wedit]
That other link didn't work either. This one does.
So sad. I can't believe that thing retails for 30.00.
I will wait for the yellow sport one (water resistant with AM/FM) to show up
@catbertthegreat: That link doesn't work for me.
Can you post it as a deal on deals.woot and then link to the deal?
@kylemittskus: because Sony is discontinuing their production and we are celebrating the technology. Sheesh..... watch your mouth
@jumbowoot: So you or one of your staff deletes because all it is a list of sport walkman? No.
@spacezorro: Here it is nicely bitlied though: http://bit.ly/cx66Vw
P.S. This site needs to stop fiddling with every link.
@jumbowoot: Thank you so much for editing my title.
How deals takes this:
http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m570.l1313&_nkw=sport+cassette+walkman&_sacat=See-All-Categories
And turns it to this:
http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m570.l1313&_nkw=sport+cassette+walkman&_sacat=See-All-Categories
is beyond me.
@catbertthegreat: actually I clicked on that ebay link and from up above too and it didn't work either.
@hobbit: Stop clicking and start copy/pasting. Deals fiddles with EVERYTHING and breaks the link. See the side by side comparison in my last comment, to see what happens when you click the link. I have know idea why this site glues on amp; all over the link.
@hobbit: "f" and "hell" are inappropriate words? I thought my "f" was watching my mouth.
Woo Hoo!!! I've been wanting one of these bad boys for 25 years!
This thing has about the same sound quality as an ipod. In for three.
@catbertthegreat: The Walkman's only nixed in Japan. Gizmodo was just making assumptions.
"Update: So we weren't exactly right about the Walkman's demise. Sony contacted us to say that the plug's only been pulled in Japan, and they will continue to sell a lone cassette Walkman model in the US (If you're trying to pull off an 80s or 90s themed Halloween costume, this could be a crucial accessory)."
@journeyloaded: Thanks for heads up on that.
Curse you Sony! You ruin everything!
Long live the cassette!
It's got weather band. After the apocalypse it'll have a hearty chuckle for all your mp3 players. It is written. Uh better make that during a tornado. It's still written.
Up to 35 hours on 1 AA battery? Impressive. My old tape players in the 90s went through 2 AAs faster than that! Wonderful advancement in technology!
After finally finding a link that worked, I'm seriously considering this - I have LOADS of taped radio shows and even CDs. But I need to know: is the FM reception good? because I'd need that as well for it to work for me. BTW, this may be a perfect use for the nickel-zinc 1.6 volt AA rechargeables I just got...
Edit: I'm think that 35 hours is using the radio only. If you use the tape player, how long will that lone AA battery last...?
@kirazxm: I just LOVE spammers in the morning before I have had my coffee
Get'em before they all disappear. Heard that Sony will no longer make the ubiquitous first-ever personal portable stereo.
"7 TV stations"? Can this actually receive and decode the audio from the new digital TV transmission format?
@crowbite: Good point! I hadn't thought of that. I don't think it can.
@kylemittskus: Good heavens. Your original comment bearing the oh-so-offensive "f" has gone! Gorn I tell ee! There was a weather forecast once, in the days when the BBC used acetate symbols on the map. The forecast was foggy, so F O G was spelt out across the Midlands. Then the first letter dropped off. The forecaster finished up his forecast, and rounded off with "and sorry about the 'F' in 'FOG'". Hoho.
RIP- Cassette Players.
@crowbite: It could get 7 TV stations if you took it back to the '80's where it belongs but not now.
I haven't owned a cassette player since 6th grade... And that was like 12 years ago lol.
What, they still make cassette players? I see these selling well in Brooklyn....
@catbertthegreat: Ah... html encoding on your links... We have been looking into this..
[edit] links with & in them are working now
