although this might be a good deal, i'd like to point out that if you're planning on buying it, buy the console version. the pc version has very high system requirements, and although my pc was able to run it on max, the entire game is locked at 30 frames per second. There's some major bugs and it's very apparent that the game was a bad port.

@rohanarora2: Thanks for the info! Nearly pulled the trigger but I'll pick up the PS3 version sometime.

yeah thanks, seemed worth the buy even after i played it on xbox. loved the console game, 30 fps sounds lame on my new pc box...

totally agree with rohanarora2, I'm very much pro PC and anti console, BUT this game is pretty crappy on PC, not to mention it requires 30GB!!! of HDD space, granted much of it is for HD movies, but seriously for 30GB you could have the whole starwars six-ilogy in HD. (ok I looked and apparently all 6 SW films in 720p is 35GB so sue me)

but it's a very bad port, their 1.0 (pre-patched, retail release) was unable to finish half the game due to crashing. You could do worse with $15 but not too much worse.

Isn't the 30 fps just vsync? That can usually be turned off, but in some games it can't.

Ok, folks: This is a great deal. It includes all of the "bonus packs", all of the patches/upgrades, and it looks great. For those of you complaining that you can't play it, well, there are warnings in large red letters that explain the system requirements. If your system meets or exceeds these requirements, the game is beautiful and plays like a dream. For those of you whose systems don't make the cut, go pick up a cheap copy of Half-Life 1 or buy this for your console.

Oh, and the 25 GB download includes installers and other misc stuff. If you "back up" the game to disk it actually takes up only ~16 GB of space. At a time when 2 TB drives cost ~$120, 16-25 GB is NOT a lot of space. This also gets back to "Does your system make the cut?"

Finally, the V-sync can't be turned off in-game, but if you have a decent video card you will have the option there on the hardware side of things.

The bigger issue:
This game was an incredible disappointment. It had tremendous hype and seemed to have great potential. It failed to deliver. The gameplay was decent, but the control sceme blow chunks and don't get me started on the camera (it's in the third person).

For this price it's OK, though. Mind the system requirements.
