Thanks for the link! If anyone feels super generous, please use the link below ;)

I'll go once in a blue moon, but could be a good teacher gift, or stocking stuffer for a teenager...

Had to downvote both of the posters using deals.woot to try and get their deals for free. Sharing a deal is fine but it is in poor taste to try and profit from it. Once we step over that slippery slope, it is no different from someone who posts their entire ebay inventory as was a hot discussion a few weeks ago.

(In fairness to the reference, the situation was resolved with both the person and the administrators. However, the question generated did show quite a bit of heat to betraying the purpose of deals.woot)

vote-for2vote-against

I do not think it is in poor taste, nor should the poster be downvoted, as she only included that link in the comments as opposed to the deal link provided above.

vote-for4vote-against

@wisenekt: I agree to a certain extent. I too would find that obnoxious, but that's why I didn't force it upon people through the main deal link. I instead gave them the option through the comments, and you speak of profit as if my margins will be significant... Its a one time savings of a measly 13 dollars, I just thought it would be pretty cool to gain from the system.

vote-for9vote-against

I agree with thalleck, the poster offered a deal with no strings and nothing to gain in the title. To then put a link in the comments with FULL disclosure is reasonable. I was about to purchase through the main link but will now go through their link. Nothing wrong with them getting something out of it, IF and WHEN it doens't cost anything more to the woot community.

vote-for13vote-against

@kingcoke: I agree with you.

In any event, if you don't want to click on a shared link, just don't do it. I don't see the need to continuous downvote someone who is trying to make a sweet deal even sweeter! Isn't that kind of the point of deals.woot? I don't know about you, but I would love a deal where everyone works together to get their deals for free. Maybe that is better suited for a different site, though.

My apologies to those I offended. I would delete the post if I could.

vote-for8vote-against

In terms of this deal, its worth noting that it says that the vouchers never expire, so if you're like me and eat a big mac once every couple of months, it might be worthwhile to get it.

vote-for4vote-against

@tfk232: Deals.woot is a little more communist in that it is what is good for the group. At least that is how I have always viewed it. Allowing benefit that is not available to all, in theory, is, as stated, a slippery slope that could turn this into a bunch of spammers. Just my opinion though.

vote-for0vote-against

I have a group of friends who often uses a chain system for things like this. Once one person gets theirs free we move on to the next. I don't see the problem in doing that here but it would be nice if initial poster said theirs was full and not to use that link anymore so someone else could post theirs :) Just my opinion of course.

vote-for3vote-against

@wisenekt: You make perfect sense. The hardest part is where to draw the line to make sure the slippery slope doesn't occur. I for one do not like seeing the posts by companies trying to promote themselves with horrible deals or ebay sellers posting their sales - obviously deals posted solely for personal gain. But I had hoped woot would have the group mentality to work together for a common goal - both for the good of the group and the good of the individual.

vote-for2vote-against

@taroreadr: That sounds pretty cool; only problem is that if on my turn there was a deal valued at 10 dollars, then during your turn the deal was valued at 100, it should be able to create an issue.

$13 for 5200 calories?! A steal!

vote-for2vote-against

@cjm71087: I don't think you are supposed to eat them all at once.

vote-for2vote-against

Dangit! No way I'm going to stick to my diet now...

vote-for2vote-against

@evo255x: The link that I posted for the deal wasn't a referral link. I did however post a referral link in the comments which was downvoted and the link was actually removed. So i'm not sure if I got it for free or not. Anybody know how long it takes livingsocial to process that?

vote-for-2vote-against

people still eat at McDonalds?

vote-for2vote-against

@kingcoke: A friend of mine used my referral link and I got an email within an hour.

vote-for0vote-against

I don't even like Big Macs, but this is a pretty good deal. I might get it anyway. I'm sure my wife would like these for a free lunch while she's at school. (there's a McDonald's across the street)

vote-for1vote-against

@tfk232: Looks like nobody used mine then because its been over an hour and I haven't received any emails or confirmation from livingsocial.

vote-for1vote-against

@kingcoke: Same here, although above ecunning said he/she used it but I never got an email.

vote-for-2vote-against

So I'm getting really frustrated with all the downvoting here. Is this normal?

vote-for2vote-against

sorry it was my 1st woot, belive me I can afford 13 dollars, I copied and posted the wrong link, my apologies to all

vote-for2vote-against

@tfk232: Its only natural human nature. People want to maintain a fairness in that everyone pays the full price and that a few of us shouldn't get away with getting it for free since we were immoral and posted our shared links. People seemed to be okay with my link after some reasoning but they were grateful to me in a way for sharing the deal so they let me get away with it. But some random link is going to get downvoted because everyone will just be like why should you get it for free if I have to pay.

vote-for2vote-against

@kingcoke: Oh I wasn't talking about my post with the link. I understand where people are coming from for that one. Most of the posts on this page are downranked even though they are legit.

vote-for3vote-against

@tfk232: It's the internet cowards hiding and judging, sad

vote-for3vote-against

@cjm71087: Don't forget about the 125g of fat and 1750mg of Sodium. So hopefully this deal would be for a whole family/group, for a meal that they would rarely eat.

vote-for1vote-against

So tempting... but so bad for me

vote-for4vote-against

Everything in moderation. Don't get the haters hating on Mcds. It tastes yummy. Just don't eat it very often. As for targeting kids... seriously? It's french fries and chicken nuggets... Do you need advertising beyond that? So they had grimace and hamburglar, big deal. As a kid, they had me at french fries, didn't even have to get to the nugget part. Just french fries and I was sold. Besides, is your 5 year old going to drive to Mcds and buy the fatty food or are you the parent responsible for buying your kids food? The marketing to kids is bogus. They can't buy anything...

vote-for-3vote-against

5,200 calories, 255 grams of fat. plain with no condiments. all that for $13, what a deal!

vote-for2vote-against

@zachnolan:

Finally got to use my $10 credit from a while back to make the deal even slicker at $3! Definitely gonna eat wel for a week :D "Well" defined by taste, not the supposed ingredients and preservatives. Tastes better than banquet meals, that's for sure!
