Sriracha Popcorn for $5.99
We recently heard from one of our favorite defenders of reason, bacon and impeccable grammar, The Oatmeal. It turns out that we have something in common with The Oatmeal besides an intense love for bacon – our fiery food mistress is the Rooster.
We couldn’t wait to team up with The Oatmeal on our newest invention – Sriracha Popcorn. It’s a Thai-inspired kick-in-the-face with red chilies, garlic, sugar and a hint of vinegar. Just like the Rooster Sauce that inspired it, we think you’ll find yourself getting as addicted to it as we are.
Supplies are very limited – so get some roostercorn while you can.
I seriously seriously want that 18-pack, but then I realize "great googly moogly that's a lot of money," so I'll stick with the single pack, and try to figure out how to make it at home.
I want it so much... I should pull the trigger.
On another note, thanks to this post I saw the Tesla Museum campaign post. You deserve all my up votes forever.
@kikuichimoji: I'm guessing if you cut the amount of butter in half that you'd apply to your popcorn, and replace that with a tablespoon or two of Sriracha, you'd have a reasonable home made version,. Perhaps you could use all Sriracha, but you'd need to be careful,l not to make the popcorn too soggy.
If you could find a way to dehydrate the sauce into a thick treacly substance, or a powder, that should work very nicely with the usual amount of butter. So has Rooster sauce become the new "bacon"?
I sense Sriracha cured bacon is coming to a website in the very near future.
