Sunbeam 50” x 60” Heated Fleece Throw for $17.99 + $5.00 shipping
I was an angry, vengeful ghost in a toy store. Then I traded my sheet for a Sunbeam 50” x 60” Heated Fleece Throw.

These are great, bought one from woot about a month ago, and everyone wants to use it. Bought 3 more today.
Does this have a two-prong power cord or three? My older house doesn't have many grounded outlets in the bedroom...
I wish you got to pick the color. I would have been in for one in the green since it goes with my bedspread, but its random, so sadface from me. Last time I let you pick the colors for me woot, I got 3 of the same color so with my luck I'd get plaid.
I really love mine that I bought off the main site a few weeks ago. Definitly worth it because of how quickly it heats up. The three hour automatic shutoff is nice also.
@arict: It is a two-pronged power cord. I think it also said the cord is like 8 or 9 feet long all the way extended
Funny timing, I just tonight finally opened the larger size version of this I got off Amazon right after these were on Woot the last time and am sitting under it right now. So far I like it. Didn't notice any of the odd smells people were talking about. Washing instructions seem like a pain.
Really? I want to buy more of these, I have one and it is great, my family want to buy them but they won't because we can't pick the color. Come on w00t!
I bought one from Woot about a year ago and I love it. It's great for being able to fall asleep at night with the heat set to 50. I've washed the blanket on a gentle cycle in a front-loader a few times and hung it up to dry and it's still in good condition---it looks the same as it did new and it keeps me warm.
I bought 2 of these last time they had them. 1 for my bed and 1 for the couch. Love them, no complaints. I don't care about the color choices and ended up with 2 brown ones. Been thru the wash on gentle and a few minutes in the dryer. Alot cheaper than buying a heated blanket!
Just got mine today from the woot off. Wife was kind of disappointed--it's not a giant heating pad so if you really want that kind of warmth this won't get you there. It's pleasant subtle warmth. She expected more.
2 prong plug fyi
In for 2. My office has a tendency to be cold as a penguin's butt crack all year round and I have circulation problems in my extremities. Should keep my toes toasty without that potentially pesky problem of burning down the office with a space heater. Then again they did take my stapler....
Bought 2 of these last year, gave one as a gift and the husband as the other one. Quickly heats up but the size is a bit small. And after regular usage (every night during the winter months) the 3hr shut off feature no longer works. But the fabric has held up very well and all the cords still plug in tightly. If we needed another one, I'd be in on this deal. Alas, last year's blanket is still kicking.
This is perfect for the long stroll home from the park when temperatures can dip below 30 degrees. It saves me the trouble of having to pack a jacket, umbrella and cart. Instead, I just put this in my purse and I'm good to go. I also find it reassuring when I walk home from work after dark, because I sometimes don't feel safe.
I have a couple of these from Costco and use them for my 14 year old arthritic cat. Between the heat and the cosequin for her, she is a lot more comfortable.
The 3 hour timer is great. I can set it in the morning when she needs a bit more warmth until the sun warms up her spot. A couple extra of these and I can put them in different areas of the house so she can have a different scenery. At night, I turn the one on my bed so she snuggles and I get a warm bed to slip into.
I have one and I like it OK, but I dislike the way that the fleece sheds. As some people have mentioned, it doesn't get terribly warm, even on the High setting. I would rate it 3 on a scale of 5.
I currently have one wrapped around my legs as I type. It is wonderfully snuggly.
It is a 'throw' size, not a full-size blanket, but should be enough for evenings with hot cocoa.
Does anyone have the power usage info?
It's like a snuggie, only no sleeves. And electricity.
@gabbygabby: You must have a VERY long extension cord!
My Mom wouldn't buy one for my Dad because she couldn't pick the color.
So I ordered him one, he not only got a color he loves, but he now lives with the blanket.
Highly recommended by the old(er) man.
A lot of people misunderstand the purpose of electric blankets and throws. Unlike heating pads, they're not meant to heat up the body so they don't get hot. Rather, they help keep natural body heat from escaping. A thick comforter does the same thing. Since blankets are thin, some heat is necessary to make the blanket warmer than the surface of the skin. Because heat only travels from warmer objects to colder ones, heat from the body is retained because your skin surface is now cooler than the blanket. Body heat then stays trapped beneath the blanket or throw.
This is why an electric blanket uses only about 150 watts while a small heating pad uses about 40 watts, even though the blanket is much larger than 4x the pad. If you want heat on the body, buy a heater. Radiant heaters are most efficient if you only want to heat the body and not the room. Most use quartz tubes, and can use as little as 300-400 watts on low. Or if you want localized therapeutic heat, get a heating pad.
If you want to read more about electric heaters, here is something I previously wrote on Woot.

@ribbit1019: Generally speaking, electric blankets use about 150 watts while electric throws use around 90 watts. Setting it on low will save even more energy since the blanket will be on less often.
I'm so excited! I missed out on these during the Woot-Off, and now got to use my Jumbowoot coupon.
Would anyone judge me if I actually want the plaid? The only one I'm not crazy about is that gray-ish one on top. Maybe we should start a color swap thread for those of us who receive our least preferred. :P
Some people like to sleep on their electric blankets and throws. DON'T DO THAT because it throws off the thermostat and other safety features. Blankets/throws are meant to be on top of you, not beneath you, where heat can get dangerously hot. Don't fold or bunch the fabric either when in use. If you voulez heat beneath you, buy an electric mattress pad.
I bought a king size blanket for my mattress. I love it as I get to be toasty warm, but keep my house @ 55 degrees F. One for the office, and we're good!
Love mine. If you want to keep the chill away on a cold day, it is perfect. I needed something for daytime use & this fit the bill.
The office I work in is very cold in the winter and electric heaters are not allowed, so I wonder if my wife can rework one of these into a sports coat. I could come into my office, slip on my "coat of many watts" plug myself in and no one would be the wiser. Woot please don't send me one with stripes,I look like hell in stripes.
I bought one month ago on woot.great deal! Saw them in retail store for $30 next day. Love the green color! No problems with it shedding. Have owned several of these over the years as I'm always cold and I like to keep heat low even during upstate NY winter! I see a couple comments about them not being very warm-not the case with mine! my high setting is way too hot- I haven't used it above med temp yet. Of all the Sunbeam heated blankets over years, this is by far hottest one! I've always washed mine on gentle and they last for at least 3-5yrs.
I bought 3 during teh last woot off. I thought they would make graet gifts for some college kids I know. Unfortunately, they are sitting at the post office waiting to be picked up. I will probably be in for 3 more, you can't beat the price!!!
No Color choice? NO DEAL!
Perfect for my dog who loves to lay out on the sun porch no matter how cold it gets.
I got mine in the mail yesterday from the last Woot Off. They sent me a nice brown colored one and I broke it out last night. I couldn't recommend it more, great purchase and if I knew someone who needed it, I'd buy an extra one.
Listen...if you are truly someone who needs an electric blanket to get warm (like me) you don't really care about the color. I have TWO of these things and would have taken them in puke yellow and green. (Thankfully, they are off-white). Besides, are looks that important when there is a cable and control hanging off the corner? I suppose Martha Stewart might care...unless she was back in prison.
This is a good price...
I got one on Woot last year and love it. I keep it OVER my blanket and a few minutes before I'm ready to go to bed, I turn it on to warm up the bed. When I get into bed, it's snuggly warm. As others have said, it's throw size, not blanket size. But for me, it's perfect. I'd get another one for the living room, but I'd rather be able to pick the color.
Bought one of these last month. Used it for a few weeks and it stopped working. Low and Medium settings produce no heat at all and High setting produces only slight heat at certain spots in the blanket.
I bought one last month. Everyone in the house wants one. I just ordered 3 more as a surprise. My 13 year old even said he would buy his own if it was back on woot. I will be nice and not make him pay.
Just bought one, Thank you @Jumbowoot for my coupon! :)
Buy two... 'cuz your cat won't share his.
Just bought two, yay! I was too cheap to buy the ones at big lots which were around $27 I think. I like this price better, especially with the "taxsucks" coupon for we New Yorkers who have to pay sales tax. Thanks woot! Please don't send me plaid!
Just bought three a month ago. I was hoping we would get some decent colors.
Order arrived quickly and we got three single, neutral colored throws. Buh-zinga!
Then my wife tried one out... heated up in a snap and she was thrilled. Buh-zinga again!
She took one when she visited her family and they were very willing take one off our hands and they love it. Bug-zinga trifecta!
So I am in for three more!
Buh-zinga trifecta x 2 x plaid is OK by me!
Woot please keep these coming!
@cidersapling: Bought 2 of these last year, gave one as a gift and the husband as the other one.
Cool! You gave your husband away as the other gift. I think I might try that! How did you present him, with a bow, in a box????? I like this idea!
I ordered three of these the last time they were on here. They don't get warm. Every other electric blanket I have had has heated up much better. One is fully just not warming up at all, I will have to return it to the manufacturer. Two were beige, one was brown. None had patterns.
@ribbit1019: I have a similar Sunbeam that draws 180 watts.
@gabbygabby: Translation, please!
I was the sucker when these came up on the home.woot woot-off. It just arrived today, I was content with about any of the colors, but wanted the dark brown, and the woot gods answered my prayers. No chemical smell that I had heard rumors about, it gets warm pretty quickly and fits perfectly on my full size bed.
@gabbygabby: Translation, please!
I agree, what ARE you talking about? Do you carry a generator and what is safe about a blanket. Do you 'throw' it at would be attackers? And you must have a LARGE purse.
Luckily the monsters in my closet don't care what color my blanky is.
Too soft to say no to this!
