Does anybody know what kind of fit this has on the HP TouchPad?
I've been wondering about that for awhile...they're similar but I know OB's are pretty custom-fit. SOMEBODY has to have tried it.. or atleast have the ability to try it :D
The actual link to this says "IPAD1" in it. I'm curious if it will really fit the iPad2?
EDIT: on zoom pictures it appears the case has the cutout for the front camera (not on first gen iPad) should fit. Awesome price for an Otterbox for an iPad2 considering the Defender series is $80 on the Otterbox site.
@drchops: Is the button layout the same on the HP Touchpad? Otterboxes are set to be customized for access to the buttons, etc of what they are protecting.
Otherwise this case may block out buttons not in the same exact spot, so you cannot properly access it, regardless if it fits. Do you want to have to remove it from the case every time to use?
@bigshayne: Under the technical details, it states that it is NOT COMPATIBLE with the iPad 2.
@bigshayne: The TouchPad really doesn't have a button layout. It has 1 small power button. The only other button is on the face (almost exactly where the Home button is); and while it's not round, for $70 bucks less I could deal with it :)
I'm checking the dimensions right now.. brb
[ed] Hmm..it probably WOULD fit, the .7 of a mm is the only concern, otherwise the iPad is slightly bigger ina couple places.
iPad:
9.56 in (243 mm) (h)
7.47 in (190 mm) (w)
.5 in (13 mm) (d)
TouchPad:
240 mm (9.4 in) (w)
190 mm (7.5 in) (h)
13.7 mm (0.54 in) (d)[1]
this will not work for the ipad2.. no camera cutout if you verify the model number from otterboxes own site...
and this won't work for the touchpad either. these are made to snugly fit and protect the ipad. .4 mm and such is a huge deal when it comes to these cases... don't wast youre monery trying to put it on a touchpad... though i'm sure if you have a nice rotarty tool you MIGHT be able to bore a hole for the front facing camera, but the specs would have to be the same in all dimensions
Just tried to put it on my daughters HP Touchpad, it does NOT fit....
However:
This is a great case! It does add some weight/bulk to your ipad, so if that bothers you, move on. Although, if your primary concern is protection, the Defender turns your ipad into a tank. With this case I'm not concerned about my kids playing with my ipad and the occasional drop. Also the stand is very sturdy. Great deal for under $15!!
