i wish I was there to take advantage.

edit:
From the website:
We are currently experiencing technical difficulties on the website, please call 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583) to book your flights between Burbank and Long Beach.

$4 is cheap. Thats cool. But I dont see the point of flying to/from Burbank airport to Long Beach airport. They are only 37.1 miles (35-45 minutes) away from each other. I thought its kinda silly. Dont get me wrong, the price is very cheap and Jetblue is awesome. :)

@pipersinc: That's where Carmageddon comes in. They're closing down 11 miles of one of the main N/S freeways between them, which is going to make the traffic an absolute madhouse. They want people to avoid it by flying.

Edit: yeah, what rlapid2112 said

vote-for1vote-against

interesting, carmageddon. like our snowmageddon we had one year. what will they be doing that day on the road? hopefully not filming a movie!

@rlapid2112 did anyone else notice the highway number matches the flight numbers one way?

@w00tgurl: good catch, now I am glad I am not there!

vote-for2vote-against

@w00tgurl: They're adding lanes, and to minimize the duration of the inconvenience, they're shutting all of it down so they have room to work.
I'm glad I won't have to deal with it.

@pipersinc:
You can fly back and forth a couple of times, because flying is fun.

vote-for0vote-against

Oh I see. Sorry I didn't know that. Well That's cool jetblue is doing this Carmageddon deal :)

vote-for2vote-against

Just leave your taser at home.

vote-for1vote-against

soooooo....risk your life for $4.....no thanks.....i'd rather WALK then get in a friggin plane......

vote-for3vote-against

how are you going to get to the airport? oh yeah, the 405.

vote-for14vote-against

@sabby2000: You are much more likely to die while walking than you are to die while riding in an airplane. If you are saying that you won't get on an airplane because it is dangerous, then you might as well give up walking, too. When going by distance travelled per fatality, flying is the safest mode of transportation and walking is the deadliest. More people die walking than flying! I hope you have a safe walk while everyone else is taking a super low risk plane ride! Of course, walking won't cost you 4$ so I guess you're the one who's really getting the deal here!

vote-for11vote-against

"Mean Streets’ findings include four significant facts. First, walking is by far the most dangerous mode of travel per mile. The fatality rate, using 2001 data, per 100 million miles travel was 20.1. By contrast, passenger cars and trucks rate was only 1.3. Transit is the safest at 0.75 per 100 million miles. Second, in 2003, 4,827 Americans (11.3 percent of all traffic fatalities) died while walking down the street, and 70,000 pedestrians were injured in traffic crashes. Over the ten-year period 1994-2003, 51,989 pedestrians have died on U.S. streets. Third, senior citizens, African-American and Latino pedestrians suffer a fatality rate well in excess of the population at large. Fourth, more than half of the nation’s 50 largest metropolitan areas grew more dangerous."

@sabby2000: "i'd rather WALK then get in a friggin plane......"

So, you're saying you want to do both then.

vote-for6vote-against

@superninja: This guy is a genius...took me a second though.

HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH

ROFLMFAO! Classic.

vote-for3vote-against

@okham: I usually take my Taser with me, just in case there are any terrorists on board, but I haven't seen it since the last time I flew.

vote-for1vote-against

No fear of flying... The TSA though... shudder

vote-for1vote-against

Probably $4 each way and, what, probably another $30-40 in taxes and fees each way?

vote-for2vote-against

@bdoug399: you're flogging a long-perished pony. they are sold out.

vote-for3vote-against

@wjmoss: it should be "than" vs, "then"

"then" indicates doing it in sequence (first one THEN the other)

"than" indicates preference of one over the other

vote-for3vote-against

@wjmoss: The quote was "i'd rather WALK then get in a friggin plane......" implying that they were going to walk before getting on a friggin plane instead of the correct statement "i'd rather WALK than get in a friggin plane......".

EDIT: Looks like @rlapid2112 beat me to it.

vote-for1vote-against

They just talked about this deal on the news all the way in Connecticut. They said the deal sold out in minutes!.. Part of it thanks to deals.woot, I'm sure.

vote-for0vote-against

psh With having to show up early for the flight and all that it would be easier to find an alt to the 405 then dealing with that. The 405 is always packed anyways good PR stunt. If they had this from John Wayne to Burbank I would do it for the hell of it.
