I voted this deal up, but on further review I want my vote back.
25% off is welcome, but their prices seem a bit high.

I was looking at XPS laptops and found this for $564.40.
Dell XPS M1530, Core 2 Duo (T7500) 2.20 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 30 GB HDD, DVDRW, 32-bit Windows Vista Business.

If I remember correctly Windows 7 was released in late 2009, so if this is preloaded with Vista it at least predates that. And that processor makes it even older. The T7500 was released in 2007. Even with 25% off its still $420+ for what is essentially a 5 year old computer. Not much of a deal.

@rustybender: plus these are refurbs with most of them (laptops at least) having "Cosmetic Grades" of B or lower. I don't know where they draw their lines, but it just doesn't seem like a good deal.

There's some good deals on precision workstations if you need something to run Solidworks or other design / simulation programs that want a Quadro.

>32-bit Vista

That's terrible lol.

Looking through their desktops, I didn't really see anything that was a good deal.. All of their desktops have 32-bit operating systems. Why would they do that?

@bmason3604: I think that is just a sign of the age of these systems. In the early days of Vista, 64-bit was still new and scary. There was a lot of concern that old 32-bit apps may not function properly under a 64-bit OS, so 32-bit Vista was a "safe" choice.

I gave this a thumbs up on the deals home page because it looked like 25% off ANYTHING on the main Dell site. 25% off their refurb store only? Eh, not such a great deal. Updating the blurb on the home page to reference the limitations would be a good idea.

How long is this code good for?

Did not work for me, was going to order a refub monitor and got "No eligible discounts for promo code: 25%anyitem"
