Oh good, finally a high speed hdmi cable. I'm tired of all my blu-rays running in slo-mo.

I have had to return so many hdmi cables because they were either a. low speed or b. incompatible with my PS3. Thanks for this hot tip.

Is this cable freeway legal?

Amazon offers high quality hdmi cables. The price is higher ($5.79), but if you're legitimately having to 'return so many cables' I'd recommend them in the future. Newest standard, free shipping, everyday low price (rather than having to wait for a deal like this)

I believe the consensus last discussion was hdmi cables either work or they don't

No such thing as high speed but then again I'm not up to speed on all the latest standards.. no pun intended

No seriously ... no pun intended

@bolts: That's true but I believe "high speed" refers at least in part to the fact that the cable will carry 1080P and up signals while non-high speed will only go up to 1080i. And there are different versions that support different new standards like Deep Color and 3D. I suspect most cables are the new version at this point though.

These do not list their HDMI version compatability; the last version to carry the 'High Speed' designation (at the moment) was HDMI 1.3. We are currently up to 1.4b, with 2.0 being planned. HDMI 1.3 does not support ARC, 3D over HDMI, Ethernet over HDMI, and a number of other advanced features, as listed here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Versions

If you don't need any of those features, it's a decent enough deal. You can get a 1.4b cable for about the same price many places though.

Is there some pin-out differentiation between a standard HDMI cable and one for connection to a PS3 as opposed to connecting a Blu-ray player to a TV??

I can buy a 3 dollar+shipping HDMI cable or I can go to Monoprice.com and get it for 70 cents+ shipping. Hmmm I can't decide.
