That AC3900 that's featured for $39 is showing up on the site for $49, at least for me. Am I missing a coupon or something? "Add to cart to see price," maybe?
im getting the same thing, plus its trying to charge me for shipping
I have reached out to the customer.
Out of 10 reviews it has 4 stars on Target.com. Main complaint is that it is noisy.
The next model up AC4010 is the same price $59.99 on Amazon

I have this thing running about 5 feet away from me right this moment. Bought it at Target about 1 year ago for around $50. I leave it running constantly because I like the sound of fans but there's no proof that it actually cleans the air. It's probably geared for more of a bathroom sized room, and it's probably most effective in a bathroom as well (mold, poop, general muck).
It's really a piece-of-mind thing for those of you who are hypersensitive to allergens, dust, and mold, and for you ultra-hypochondriac types that make yourselves sick with worry and fear of things like "air" and "dry paint". Really it's the madness in your head.
It's fixed now $39.99 for the ac3900 and $47.99 for the ac4010.
Edit: nvm. It is still charging $5.99 for shipping.
Basically I'm leery of anything that Consumer Reports hasn't tested. As far as I can tell these models are just physically too small to be truly effective or efficient on anything but high (read NOISY AS HELL) speed.
I still had to pay for UPS ground shipping, and I also used coupon code spring20 at check out get 20% off. (Don't buy anything w/o a coupon) With all the allergy sufferers in my house, I am in for two. My co-worker has had these in her house for a while now. Just haven't have a "good" excuse (read: money) to buy one and esecially not at the original prices.
The spring20 coupon code brings it down to below the sale price, even with shipping. However, the replacement filters (which they say to change every 6 months) are $19.99 each, plus shipping if you don't get one now. That makes it less a great deal. Anyone know how long the filters really last?
Geez. I just looked at the specs, and they say this is a 12 volt DC model, not 120 volt AC!
Does it pick up dust so you don't have to vacuum as much?
I figured out the voltage issue by reading the owner's manual. It uses a 'wall wart' to turn house current into 12 volts DC. So I guess you could modify one to run from your car's lighter socket with a simple splice. I ordered one, and got it for $31.99, shipped.
Got the step up model, and it had free shipping and 20% with SPRING20 it was $38.90 . :) They are noisy, but Do work great.
"SPRING20" does not work at all for me and i have tried all of their products. no effect ... can somebody help ? how do you get it work exactly ?
I have one of these in my son's room who has Asthma, and he can feel the difference in his room. We keep his door closed all day long, so it just works on his room alone.
I also got it at Target on clearance about 2 years ago. The fan in mine is starting to go out and "rumble" but we've never turned it off, so 2 years seems about right.
I had a hard time finding a replacement filter last time I looked...
I'm in for 1. I think I paid $50 on clearance 2 years ago.
Sorry to spam comments, I should have put it all in one. I wanted to add that the filter is $15ish, and I get it on Amazon. It was $25 last time I saw it in Target, and it's $19 on Germguardian's website.
@pemfir, I put in the coupon code before checkout. I ordered it at like 1 in the morning today, so I don't know why it won't work for you. I did get a confirmation email this morning that the order went through with the discount as well as them crediting my account for the shipping they charged me. Try again, I think its a really great deal, minus the shipping that I will be credited back, and the coupon code I paid 63.98 for two!
@ladyperl: how much did you pay for your product ? i called customer service they said they have disabled the coupon and have actually applied the 20% to all products by default. did you get yours for $40 or lower ?
I purchased the 4010 because the reviews on other sites said it was really good and only $8 bucks more. Purchase filters on Amazon there only $15.
Also, no coupon needed anymore. Everything is automatic.
W00T!
@frogboy99: Piece of mind for allergy sufferers and this thing have nothing in common. Piece of mind would be something that was, you know, effective at removing the allergens from the air.
i am so pissed. they have removed the 20% off at some point during the sale. the price with SPRING20 has been $32 not $40. Also check Meijer's prices. they have these on sale as well, and for certain models, meijers prices are cheaper.
So if I had ordered about 14 hours ago after they fixed the price but BEFORE they disabled the spring20 coupon, I could have gotten a better deal.
The AC4010 at $47.99 with 20% off + $5.99 shipping = $44.38
I know it's only a $3.61 difference, but I'm such a stickler for bargains that it irks me that I missed out on a better opportunity.
@pemfir: Thanks for the tip about Meijer! The model I want is $44.07 there!
@pemfir.. I'm with you when it comes to losing out on that extra 20% that some received; it's the "principle" of the thing... a deal is fine, but a STEAL is mine! haha As a result, I "had" to look elsewhere... THANK YOU for posting about Meijer (I had never heard of them as they seem to be in several midwest states.). I looked online and they had a GREAT price, too on the AC4010 model...
They had 10% off orders over $100 through the 16th... I was planning on buying 2 of these, but then sided on 3 (one for the office) to end up over $100. As a result, the $9.96 shipping ended up FREE because I got $11.25 back with the 10% off.
Final cost = $37.06 each for the AC4010 models!!! WOW... STEAL!!! Oh, and that's not counting the 1% back from my credit card or from the "feeder" site I use... Meijers was one of their sites... WOOT WOOT!!!
