If only I had $200 laying around...

vote-for3vote-against

"Starting at" $49! The cool ones with sound are $220. Not a deal at all!

vote-for6vote-against

@tcayer: The term "deal" is relative. Don't be such a negative Nancy!

vote-for1vote-against

it's a good deal when you know what the going rate is for new converted sabers with sound. Better than getting hosed on e-bay

vote-for3vote-against

at $49 it is a deal.. i personally could care less for the sound.. doesnt bother me..i know to some people it does.. and alot of people may say that sound really makes this thing.. but again..it doesnt bother me

vote-for2vote-against

Hook 2 of them up to a clapper like my hero Wolowitz.

vote-for9vote-against

all the cool ones are expensive as (mod edit: profanity)and the cheap ones don't have sound! come on! how am i suppose to pick up chicks with no sound on my saber!

vote-for1vote-against

I actually know the guy that makes these. They are all crafted, lovingly, by hand... and he stands behind his product.

Worth every single penny of what you pay for them.

vote-for2vote-against

They look amazing on camera. We took videos on an iphone it looked real.

“Do or do not... there is no try.”

vote-for1vote-against

Um . . . what the hell are you supposed to do with a Yoda lightsaber? Think about it . . .

vote-for2vote-against

Come on. Everybody knows a real Jedi builds his/her/its own lightsaber.

vote-for1vote-against

The clearance lightsabers looks like metal pipes with a button on it.

vote-for1vote-against

some are tube-like, and the price goes up with the added detail. and still better than the toy ones as these are designed to get banged up.

vote-for1vote-against

@rayray8822: Hmmm... Size matters not when you have the Force.....

vote-for2vote-against

@yodafett123: It's not the sound of your saber, it's whether or not you can throw it.

Of course if picking up chicks is an issue there's always the...."force." Lol.

vote-for1vote-against

You all are dorks! I'd pit my lightsaber collection against any of you geeks =j

vote-for1vote-against

Today (10/18)is the last day; they are good products and they have great quality and customer service-- I've bought from them before.

vote-for2vote-against

Hmmm.. Not bad but.... Insufficiently detailed. More greeblies! They're just lightly-milled shafts. No flanges, no frobs, no widgets. While basic functionality is good, it should look like more than just a flashlight.

vote-for1vote-against

@robinbobcat: they have the MR yoda stunt with some flair to it (the take out the soundboard, but still better than a tube).

vote-for1vote-against

What is the difference between these and the Force FX or Hasbro FX lightsabers?

vote-for1vote-against

@basileus: Force FX are the older Master Replicas (I think). They didn't get their licence renewed (again, I think), and Hasbro picked it up. There are new sounds in the most recent Hasbro FX's, but a converted FX (either hasbro or MR) is going to be sturdier (again with the I think) than a stock version of either.

vote-for1vote-against

I am getting one of these because the only thing I got for my birthday was money and I can afford to get it for myself goddammit
Splurged on the aqua blade too
I just hope the yoda one is as good as the initiate

vote-for1vote-against

@sleepingrock
I see...it's just that those are all around $100 whereas these (if you want something that looks like more than a polished steel pipe) are getting up there in price. And do you know what the difference between the blade types on these mean?

vote-for2vote-against

@basileus: blade types are explained on the site, left hand side under "Blades" I have/prefer mid and heavy grade blades, some like the ultra-edge. There are videos of them on youtube. The converted ones can take a beating. I got a converted master replica Mace Windu, and I've dueled with the for nearly a year. You can find used ones cheaper, and sometimes you do get what you pay for. Just my thoughts. fx-sabers.com has tons of info and options on these and other types of sabers.

@sleepingrock
I'm curious now...your thoughts and preferences on blade type? While I'm not sure I'll be getting one in this sale, if I could find a positively amazing hilt and get it set up with a sound card and the RGB setup (which apparently allows for all 7 colors, or so people said on their forums and was mentioned in the video for the Prophecy Collector's)...

vote-for1vote-against

The Mid-grade is lighter, has a little flex on impact, and works fine when banging it against another blade. Heavy, is well, for more intense choreography and applications. I like both, but if I had to choose, I'd go with a mid-grade, or both and try and see. I like them more than the ultra edge blades; the white stands out to much for my taste, but it's just as functional as the others. I'd look at the fx-sabers forum; there are plenty of quality builders out there- I've personally worked with Gemini Concepts, LDM, and UltraSabers and they are great to work with. I'm up to 8 sabers now, and I've only been it the hobby seriously for 10 months. I have seen some of those multi-colored ones too. people also put in white LED's and put color filters over them.

vote-for1vote-against

@sleepingrock
What about the UltraBlade or what have you from Ultrasabers?
And what at least some people on the forums have said is that the colors seem pretty washed-out if it's just white with a colored lens.

vote-for1vote-against

@basileus: I've been gone a week. I've got both. I kind of like the midgrade blade better than the ultraedge, but it depends on the saber color and the "mood" of the hilt. you kind of need to see it on the hilt to decide. sorry, it's kind of vauge.
