You don't have to dress as a burrito -- any costume will do.

@aggiejd: I'm going to have to respectfully disagree.
Their website says "dressed in costume". Also, "Need a little encouragement to get creative with your costume?" Not once does it say that you must wear foil.
Also, if you go to their facebook page, and vote on best costumes, no one is dressed in foil.

I believe in the past you had to dress in foil, but they changed it this year.

From the Chipotle's Facebook page:

"Boorito is almost here! Join us on Halloween from 4 pm to close.

Dress in costume, and you'll get a $2 burrito - all proceeds up to $1M will benefit the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation at www.cultivatefoundation.org "

I think dress in costume means any costume. Foiled again...

@hibbie: I think you might be right, though traditionally you had to come in dressed as a burrito (i.e., wearing foil).

@idiotjoe: Yep, I used to get my free burritos (when they did that) using just a foil hat, unless I was feeling ambitious.

Thanks for the reminder! We saw this promotion weeks ago and I had forgotten all about it. I was planning to take my dog trick or treating tonight. We don't knock on doors, just put on his costume and go walk around in the neighborhoods popular with trick-or-treaters, he loves the attention and it's good socialization. After our walk I will definitely be heading to Chipotles. I don't see where anyone posting the times so far, it's 4pm to closing.

@craigster38: As I recall, at one point it was you were supposed to "dress as a scary processed food item". I don't remember a "dress as a burrito".

It used to be that you had to come dressed as a burrito. The past couple years, it changed so that you only have to wear a costume.

I'm already dressed as Professor Chaos from Southpark so I'm all good either way!

My roommate works at Target. Think I could just put on his uniform and call it a costume?

vote-for2vote-against

I have a flier right here that says this: "-BOORITO- This Halloween, come into any Chipotle dressed in costume, from 4PM TO CLOSE, and you'll score a $2 burrito". In other words, your lunch plans are screwed.

vote-for1vote-against

@corryr: I was told 4 to close as well.

vote-for1vote-against

oh boo! I was just there for lunch and they said nothing about it. Unless they think I'm goth everyday!

Sounds awesome, looks like obi-wan will be dining at chipotle tonight :P

WAIT!!!
"Well, the proceeds of the event, up to $1M, will be donated to a non-profit"
do they mean the profit from $2 burritos will go to a non-profit. How much profit can they be making from $2 burritos?

side thought, If someone comes in dressed as a burrito they should get a free one - year round! it would be much better marketing.

The hours and costume rules are different for each location. Most are from 4-close. Some have required a farm type costume, but most don't. As usual - ymmv.

But still, $2 burrito dudes!

(I can't believe I forgot to post this last night, so thanks for posting!)

The problem with this promotion is that it always creates a huge line (often near me over an hour) and the burrito they give you tends to be small since they have to conserve food for all the people who show up. I personally would say that waiting in line for that period of time for a 4 dollar discount isn't really worth it.

Line was already out the door and around the corner at 5. Awesome discount, but drew too big a crowd for me so I'm out.

vote-for1vote-against

just got mine, at ours the guac came without extra charge tonight!

We got ours. Line was out the door, but the wait was only about 20 minutes. I had my two boys with, who were in costume. I didn't wear a costume, but they gave me a $2 burrito bowl anyway! Didn't expect that. Lots of fun people in the line, too. Definitely worth it for us.

@cheeserap: It says proceeds go to a nonprofit. In other words, they are actually losing money selling these burritos as they are not keeping any of the money that is taken in.

The line of costumed revelers trying to get Chipotle by my campus yesterday was not only out the door, it was 4 blocks long!!
