I am somewhat confused by this, what is the point if you are unable to open any of the files you transfer to it? One could achieve this same function by plugging a phone in and it should come up as an external hard drive... AND I can open the files I put on it. Then again I am on an Android platform.

@sirsnafu: That's how it works on Android, on iOS you're forced to use itunes to transfer files. Apple doesn't provide any means to use the phone as a usb storage device. Even if users use this to transfer files to their device, they still won't be able to use them on the device. For example, if you copy an mp3 as a file, you can't play it. You have to transfer media through itunes or it won't work.

how is this better than dropbox?

Doesn't seem to work for me on my iPad or iTouch. I go to that address and get nothing. What is supposed to happen when you try that address on your browser? I got a blank screen on Firefox and error message on IE.

If the link is not working for you, it is a link to an app in the app store that is free for a limited time called "WIFI USB".

@akiersky: Doesn't seem like it is better than Dropbox to me.

My first thought was "Cool", then immediately "WTF!??". If you're going to take a USB stick around with u, why not just use a simple USB drive?

@akiersky Its not better than DropBox but my DB is too big for my iPhone. I have over 16GB of DB space that stays full and a 16GB Phone. I love my DropBox.

Who else thought they were going to get hardware? Just from the photo I was imagining some piece of hardware between PC and Device.

@sirtwitchalot: You can use any iDevice as a flash drive... just plug it into a computer and save it on the device. This app just eliminates the wire requirement.

@jph37: I don't know about an iPhone, but my Android phone allows me to select which folders are synched from my Dropbox to my phone. Works good for things I don't need on my phone and I can still access them if I really want to use the space, it just won't automatically sync the folders I deselect.

@frosty2469: No, the url gets stuck in "click.linksynergy.com"and the link won't go anywhere.
Can we get woot to stop all these redirectors?
