dealsfilet-o-fish on sale during lent starts 2/22 for…

vote-for9vote-against

whereas i do love the filetofish, and believe this to be a great deal, i remember working there and all deals were regional. and the the central il deals were diff than the southern il deals vs the eastern mo deals. also i see no place on the site that list any prices.

vote-for5vote-against

@moosezilla: totally agree this will be a regional sale. We will probably have 2 for $3.33, which has been the norm around here lately for featured sandwiches. I WISH they would be 99 cents here because my kids are at the age where they can really eat a lot!

vote-for38vote-against

@caron7: No kidding about eating tons of these. I buy them and I swear I gobble them down like Pac-Man. Waka Waka Waka Waka.

Filet-o-Fish Friday is the only religious holiday I observe.

vote-for4vote-against

I wish it were $0.99! Here in Southern California it's $1.69 usually.

vote-for7vote-against

I used to love Filet-O-Fish. Haven't McD's in a while.
And with the rumored availability of Shamrock Shakes . . .

vote-for4vote-against

I was curious, so I looked it up. According to Wikipedia, this is one of the types of fish that may appear in a Filet-O-Fish:

Here in Louisiana, Lent is a big deal.I predict that if the deal is offered here, there will be a run on the mcd's in the area until they are totally out.

vote-for-54vote-against

I just find it hilarious that the fish sandwiches are always on sale during lent. As if fish is somehow not made of meat.
Please, how narrow minded do you have to be to believe that fish is not meat?

vote-for25vote-against

I love these sandwiches and my religion...it is okay that it is not for everyone, either is fish.

vote-for22vote-against

Give me back that filet o' fish. Give me that fish!!!

vote-for4vote-against

seen them changing the sign today while I was in the drive-thru geting my daily decafe coffee and for our region which is NE Ohio there going to be 2 for $3.33:)

vote-for11vote-against

what she order? fish filet

vote-for6vote-against

So, what's the limit you can purchase for 99cents?

vote-for4vote-against

Each market runs different Filet deals. They are all very aggressive. Most do a mix/match Filet or Large Fry for 3.33.

vote-for2vote-against

@dukeboarder:
From personal experience, I wouldn't recommend dining on a filet-o-fish.

vote-for5vote-against

Filet-o-fish, my guilty pleasure. Why do you tempt me so?

vote-for6vote-against

Ooh yum! I like to put them between the patties of a double cheeseburger.

vote-for5vote-against

Not to rain on anyone's McParade, but the seasonal Wendy's fish sandwich is way better, as is the year-around Sonic fish sandwich. In fact, here in Louisiana, Sonic also offers a year-around Sonic crab sandwich, which is slightly spicy.

vote-for5vote-against

Filet of Fish, the only thing with natural grain in it.. Oh wait, maybe I am wrong.

Has anyone tried the new chicken bites? They have zero taste. I mean ZERO.

vote-for1vote-against

Mcdonalds prices and offers mostly change from one city to other, and from one owner to other. In Austin, Tx not 99 cents FOF :(.

vote-for1vote-against

@curtisuxor: isn't Waka Waka, Fozzie the Bear from the Muppets? We have to come up with a better sound for "someone" as iconic as Pac-Man

vote-for-2vote-against

@blainekyle: I am allergic to fish & whatever's in a FoF, so I'm outta here...

vote-for3vote-against

Arby's. 2 for $5.00 fish sandwich. And, they're really good. Actually looks (and tastes) like fish. McDonald's looks like they made thier patty out of Sponge Bob, which explains the shape.... and the lack of taste....

vote-for4vote-against

Too bad I gave up fast food for lent...bollocks

vote-for2vote-against

Mmmmmm....spongebob. Saw the sign go up yesterday for 2/$3.33 here in Indy. I thought it was 2/$3 last year, but I really miss the $.99 deal. I plan on eating them at least every Friday!

vote-for-7vote-against

How is fish not meat? I don't understand.

vote-for-6vote-against

As dumb as religion is this really isn't the place to talk about it
Back to the comments section on news sites with ye

I wish the big chains would rotate their sales, a different sandwich for a buck less every day
Maybe find a new favorite

vote-for5vote-against

I remember back when I lived on the island of Guam (about 98% Catholic), the lines of people waiting in McDonalds for a Filet-o-fish were always a mile long, since they just couldn't make them as fast as they were being ordered during Lent.
I always took a somewhat perverse pleasure in walking up to the counter, and ordering a Big Mac or Quarter Pounder meal, while getting envious looks from those who couldn't eat red meat during that time. ;)

vote-for5vote-against

So, I have to ask, where is the deal here? There is no coupon. There is nothing on that link that says anything about any 99 cent promotion. No proof that this deal even exists. Anyone have an answer to that?

vote-for3vote-against

@avall: I tried a small Chicken McBites the other day. They were awful. All I got was the taste of fried flour and no chicken. I felt kind of icky to my stomach even before I was finished (not that I actually finished them.)

As for the Filet-O-Fish, I wouldn't mind eating it, but I developed an allergy to certain kinds of fish several years ago. I don't now what kind of fish, I just know it isn't tuna. I can eat that and not have the allergic reaction.

Now if McDonald's sold a McTuna Sandwich or a Filet-O-Tuna I would be there every Friday during Lent. And even on some days when it isn't Lent.

vote-for9vote-against

Hello People

I've trimmed quite a few posts from this thread. I'd like to remind you that the deal is about a fish sandwich, not a conversion of your religion.

Let's stay focused on the fish and the buns. Maybe the pickle or mayo if they're included. I may let you even talk about fries if you're nice.

vote-for5vote-against

Say, sweet thang, can I buy you a fish sandwich?

vote-for0vote-against

the filet o'fishh is great, I buy it even when its not on special or the lint days come around... Ill ne eatting them even more now....

vote-for4vote-against

@thermo says "how narrow minded do you have to be to believe that fish is not meat".

Actually, if you think about it, you have to be "open minded" to believe fish is not meat. Narrow minded would have a more strict interpretation and put MORE things things in the meat category... like fish, chicken nuggets, and oh, maybe ants.

Yeah, I believe fish is meat, but I am narrow minded and I admit it.

vote-for2vote-against

@bigdogrmf: Arby's is 2 Fish sandwiches for $4 here. I only discovered this a few weeks ago, and I've been back a couple of times since.

vote-for1vote-against

We can't mention the filet o' fish with out the commercial for it that we may all vaguely recall.

vote-for2vote-against

The taste of these sandwiches will make you feel truly penitent.

vote-for2vote-against

@slanderous1: Indeed, the Shamrock Shake is nationally available. Might not always be on the menu (I was just on a road trip and had the opportunity to be in a couple of McDs - the only time I eat here), bu they have it.

vote-for1vote-against

the Wendy's cod sammich looks sooo much better, but this one is cheaper....

vote-for-11vote-against

Fish have blood in them and suffer before death just like any other animal that you eat. They are, in fact, made of meat.

If you intend on "giving up meat" for lent, why not try to completely give up meat? It could make you healthier!

vote-for3vote-against

@dfunk29: Pac-man is the original Waka Waka Waka

vote-for3vote-against

Which has the best fish sandwich: BK, McD, or Wendy's? I vote Wendy's.

@thunderthighs:
Hoping you trim the religion slammers comments too, not just supporters.

vote-for7vote-against

@thermo: Plants are also living things. How do you know they don't suffer before they die?

vote-for2vote-against

@thermo: I consider this a religious slamming comment, hope it gets trimmed too. :P

vote-for2vote-against

@bigdogrmf: Around Atlanta, the Arby's deal is 2 for $4.00 (not $5).

vote-for3vote-against

Saw a great TV documentary on Alaska fishing and the factory ship that caught Alaska Pollock. They processed the fish on the ship and within an hour of being caught, the fish filets were frozen into blocks that would be cut up later to make the McDonald's fish filet sandwich.
