I got mine at a woot off for 145 delivered. I have been very happy with it. I have not done much other than making sure the firmware up updated.

Its a pretty good music player, book reader and has a very responsive screen and it looks great. The battery management could be a bit better and it needs a propriatary connector to charge it, but bang for buck , its hard to beat.

I have a 10" version and like it a lot. I could not resist this one for $169, even if I only use it as a backup ereader...

@thag13: Was that one from the Woot Off for $145 refurbished? If it wasn't that was a terrific deal!!This one from Amazon is new....not refurbished.

Costco has this model for $159 right now. My wife and I each own one of these and we love them. I rooted mine, installed Cyangenmod which really opens up the RAM and speeds it up. Great tablet for the price.

I honestly dont remember. The box was in perfect shape and the unit had no scraches on it or anything, if it was a refurb, it sure didnt look like it. I have had no issues with it what so ever.

I have had mixed results when using apps that rely on certain hardware like the IR blaster. Unless you have a particular reason to root it, I would not. There is no automatic advantage, as this tablet supports every app store and has no flaws that are solved by rooting...

The "Galaxy Tab 3" launches July 7th, so look for the Tab 2 to continue to drop and stay low in price.

I will be picking up a Tab 2 soon. Hoping the price drops to $140-$150 soon.
