I bought a couple of these a while back for the same price and have been happy with them, but consider them disposable.

They're pretty small, and pretty flimsy, but for $2.49 they throw out a fair amount of light and are convenient for a hands-free light source. I used one recently when I needed to change a flat tire on my car in the dark and it worked great.

I'm probably a goofball, but it says "Ships from our China warehouse". Does it have an extra shipping cost if you are in the US then? Never bought from them before and wondering what kind of rep they have also?

That just means it wakes a long time to ship to the US..

@cricky101: Agree... Good product, but disposable.
They tend to go through AAA batteries as well.

"From China Warehouse" means just that -- it will be a surprise when it arrives (usually 6-9 weeks) as you will have forgotten you placed the order :)

I bought one of these. They are cheap, like others have said, but they are pretty bright. Good to have on hand in case of a power outage.

I've ordered a few things from them shipped from China. The delivery time is usually about 2 to 4 weeks. I don't think anything has gone over a month. The lamp took about 2 weeks, I think.

I bought this and it showed a cost of $2.50 after applying the coupon. I quickly used paypal without studying the stuff much and now paypal shows I have paid $4.48. Huh?

It actually says "Ships from China warehouse. Most customers receive in 2-3 weeks." and it is accurate. I've used Meritline for several small electronic items and they are indeed cheap (both in price and quality) and I've never had to wait a month or more for delivery.

@thomasr: That's because it defaults to expedited shipping, which costs extra. On that page you just have to click the shipping choice "Free Ground Shipping."

I still have yet to figure out how it comes by ground across the pacific...

I brought one too from them. Cheap but very functional. I took it apart and put it back together. All the parts are sound.

It's not water proof, but it also have nothing inside but a switch and wires all put in this plastic box. If it's wet, just dry it out and it should work again.

It can run about 48hrs on a fresh charge battery. After that it dim to non usable light and that should run for about a month if not more. I ran it down till the LEDs are just a bit of glow dots in the dark. lol

I'm no environmental freak but I use things when it's still usable. With that being said, this light is not a disposable unless you are one of those wear your cloth once and dispose of it. I have not heard anyone broke this light, but if they do I don't see why a bit of tape won't put this baby back together and just as good.

These really are great, even at full price. I have 3 and use them all for camping. Very bright LEDs and a nice little hook that you can hang in a tent or an SUV if you have a strap.

They feel like they could shatter easily, but are surprisingly durable. I dropped one in a camp fire and it still worked (although a bit of the plastic melted).

Discount code still works Tuesday 10:40 AM EST.

@thormj: The description says it uses AA batteries, not AAA as you indicate.

AA would be a plus, they have more than twice the capacity of AAA cells.

@autocrosser: They wait until Moses parts the sea, then they drive across in trucks with mud tires. That's why it takes so long...

@thomasr: At checkout you have the option of standard (free) shipping or expedited (usually about $2) shipping. Paid shipping is the default and you have to change it if you want free shipping. I'm guessing that you missed that.
