LOVE that it doesn't auto-renew! However, after putting in the code, my total comes to $0.02 and wants me to go to Paypal. It's not like $.02 isn't worth it (even if I only use the "free" shipping a single time!), i'm just slightly annoyed that free isn't free. still signed up though :)

@smtatertot13: I got charged $0.02 as well. I don't quite understand that but definitely not complaining. Also, woo-hoo! for lack of auto-renewal!

anyone has the expiration date for the code/promotion? Not planning to buy anything soon and I like maximize my 3 months of free shipping. Thanks

Just signed up and used the free coupon that they emailed me for $5 off $25

vote-for4vote-against

$5 off $25 purchase is good for lawn/garden only (in store or online). Also, coupon only good 05/20/2012 - 05/25/2012.

@woottj: When I signed up last night, it gave me a year. Everyone on SlickDeals also got 1 year so it wasn't just me.

Very great. At least you can get it for one year.

Shopping my way does not involve going anywhere near a Sears store.

This is on the webpage when you follow the link:

"What happens after my free trial period?

We make extending your MAX happiness easy and hassle free. Unless you cancel your membership 5 days before the end of your free trial, you'll be notified by email that you're being auto enrolled. Then, you don't have to worry about giving your info again and we'll even use the card you already provided."
Seems like they do auto-enroll to me :(

Wedit. Not in this case.
You add the coupon code: MAXFREE4
for the trial period, and it does not auto enroll.
The information you are looking at is for people who
pay to enroll.

Perfect timing. I need some replacement drive wheels for my mower. Shipping was going to be $10. Thanks!

@woottj @mrsque: My resources over at slickdeals tell me June 30th. However, as @missellienc has stated, this is actually a 1 year membership. I don't know if it's an error by Sears or what. But it continually says 3 months, then after you purchase, it shows your membership expiration date expiring one year from today.

@kris0283: I'm not really sure what this post is saying. Maybe woot edited/deleted some?

But anyway, I just completed the purchased and it does state that it will auto-renew in a few places. BUT, if you go into your profile and under the "clubs" tab, there is a spot that you can turn off all auto-renewing. Hope this link works... (may need to log in first, then click link):
https://www.sears.com/shc/s/FetchMembershipDetails?storeId=10153&catalogId=12605&langId=-1&pageName=ClubProfileView&aff=Y&sid=IAx20050830x000545

Lastly, none of my credit cards would go through with a charge of $0.00. I think that's why Sears made the .02 cent ending price. If you add this item to your cart:
http://www.sears.com/leafblaster-3-inch-sample-of-leafblaster-micro-mesh/p-SPM5820083102P?prdNo=8&sid=IAx20050830x000545&aff=Y
then apply the promo code, your total will still be 2 cents. It ships for free, so no harm done. I tried applying to code, then removing the item. The total shows $0.00, but I can't complete the order. Stupid Sears website. lol

@firebirdude: good catch. when i went to my profile to check out the expiration of this free trial (it IS a year by the way: Expires 05/20/2013!!) there was a blue button just under the expiration that said something like "Do Not Auto-Renew". I clicked it, a pop-up told me I wouldn't auto-renew and I mostly believe it. I'll be setting a Google calendar reminder for about 11.5 months from now with cancellation info in the event I need it. You know how these free trial things can be.

Also, for what it's worth, this post claims that we're getting a Shop Your Way Max trial (previously ShipVantage), but my profile lists nothing under the SYWM title - only shows my awesome new 1 year trial of ShipVantage. I suspect Sears is crazy. Then again, I think they are crazy for trying to keep their dying business model around, but I'll keep taking advantage of the sales & newly free shipping until they're out of business.

Heads up, When I look in my Shop Your Way account history it lists the trial purchase as ANNUAL, AUTO RENEWAL.

Not sure if that means anything but just another reason to be cautious when the trial is nearing it's end.

vote-for4vote-against

It's kind of burried in there so here's how to find the auto-renewal option:

Click the My Profile button at the top right.
Click the About Me tab.
Click the Clubs link.
Under the Shipvantage link there's a place to turn off auto-renew.

Also, this purchase is eligible for 790 points which is worth $0.79. So you're profiting $0.77 just by signing up.

Just an FYI that, although you still have to enter a credit card number in order to process your order, if you already have an existing shop your way rewards balance (I personally had .37), you can pay for the .02 with your rewards.

vote-for2vote-against

times like these I really LOVE you guys! this is an awesome deal (imo)! I just so happened to have some change on my rewards card and got out of even paying the 2 cents! just went in and turned off the auto-renewal and saw the membership expires next year. I'm so glad I didn't sleep on this!

vote-for1vote-against

@firebirdude: Thanks! I took the auto renew off. I couldn't find where to do it until I followed your link. Oddly enough, today, when I went to their webpage( for the deal) they now state that they will not auto renew the membership. When just last night when I click on the provided link that was in the original post, it was clear (as indicated in my post) that they would auto renew).

vote-for1vote-against

How long does it take to get your info? I got an email with my "order confirmation" but no login info or anything to use this. And I signed up so I could get free shipping on another deal, that has limited stock.

vote-for1vote-against

@cornellbigred: Only valid at "participating Sears Outlet" locations. Sears near me is not an outlet location. :-(

Still waiting to get my membership info :(
