They don't really have (mod edit: profanity) for a selection.

I bought glasses from them. They were just ok. The lenses were super thick, not nice looking thin, lightweight lenses I thought they would be. Price was around $50 after all was said & done. Still cheaper than I could buy locally, but at least locally the scrip would've been in the right position on the lens.

My insurance gives me free optical
So

Also when you get discount things liek this they're usually ugly as sin

I ordered 2 pairs from them last time they had a similar deal. I wear those glasses all the time now. If you can find a style you like, go for it!

Just got lasik, by my girlfriend liked me in specs, so I figured $20 was good enough for "dress up" ;-)

Edit: Forgot to add the coupon code. My computer needs a breathalizer. Doh!

Purchased from these guys the last time this deal came up. Some thoughts

(1) The selection at this price was extremely limited. I ultimately found a style that was acceptable, but not sure i'd want to make them my everyday glasses :-).

(2) The quality was o.k. Not sure how long a pair will last, but I'm using them as a backup, so they'll last long enough given the price. Coastal Contacts had a similar deal several months ago (even cheaper), and the quality there was noticeably better.

(3) The glasses arrived in a semi-hard case, wrapped in tissue. I ordered 2 pair and they each included a mini-screwdriver kit. The CC glasses i ordered (noted above), came with a really nice hard case, soft bag to put the glasses in, lens cloth, and screwdriver kit.

So, all-in-all, if you're prescription is easy, you don't care too much about style, and you can find something in your size, this is a decent deal. A great deal if you have kids who break or lose glasses.

ymmv,
jeff

Very disappointed... I purchased a pair the last time Woot ran this deal. After taking over three weeks to arrive, they're total crap - and there's a sharp point in the noseband, so I can't even wear them. Ended up costing me closer to $40. Not bad for a spare pair but they are terrible. I'm curious how they'll handle fixing the noseband... Save your money and shop elsewhere!

Does anyone know if they do prismatic lenses? I've been looking for a cheap pair to throw in the car. My insurance buys me free glasses every two years but more spares are better knowing me.

I thought for this price, you can't go wrong, but was I ever mistaken! Poorest quality I've ever seen. I'm embarrassed to wear them in public. Money wasted, lesson learned!

I would not recommend. They screwed my prescription up very badly, sent me a replacement pair with the exact same problem, and are pretty much telling me to f* myself now.

I have bought 3 pair in the last year from them and am very happy.

I have gotten plain, tinted and transition lenses. All were perfect

They take about 2 weeks to arrive.

I've purchased 5 pairs of glasses from here and usually end up paying a little more for a frame since their lowest price frame are pretty awful.

They came as expected for the price and looked good enough and even work really well. That being said the slightest impact could shatter the lenses, these are the most brittle things I've ever seen. I sat on one (OK my bad on that one). Bumped another against an inflatable bed (50/50 there at best). My 4y.old slightly bumped a pair on my head (no way anything should have happened to the glasses) and the last pair broke just placing them on my dashboard. Still have the 5th pair.

So maybe I'm a little clumsy but I've done much worse to other glasses before and never broken a pair so I don't think it's me.

Bottom line, if you're careful these work great, if you move to much you may want to stay away...

this is so worth it I own over 10 pairs from them, they arrived within 10 days of ordering them i love it. Compared to other stores 200 just fr the frames this is a steal. Even with all the small issued its still amazing that we are able to get glasses for so cheap.

This is about the same deal as Zenni Optical and Goggles4u. You can buy a pair of ugly frames with coke bottle lenses for about $12 shipped. For more attractive frames with coated high-index lenses you spend about $50.

I do not recommend glassesunlimited. It took almost four weeks to arrive. There was ZERO communication from them. No acknowledgement, no order tracking, no message saying they had been shipped. I think that's the most unforgivable part. It's so easy to send an automated messages.

The prices are wonderful, but the frames are poor/low quality. They don't resemble the images on their website. If you are buying single vision lenses, and want lots of choices for your fashion repertoire, the low quality frames are probably not a big deal. But it is a big deal for my family as I purchased three pairs: high powered, bifocals, progressives.

I have been buying glasses online for four years, from Zenni and EyeBuyDirect. EyeBuyDirect is terrific, and I'll go back to them over and order again. A good source for info on various online eyeglass vendors can be found at http://glassyeyes.blogspot.com . Note: glassesunlimited is not included in the reviews. I should have known better.

I've ordered three pairs from them over the last few months and had no problem. I ordered one pair with polychromatic lenses (+$50), and I love them. Another pair of sunglasses (+$6) for the car, as well as a pair to kick around in($14.99).

They do take almost two weeks to arrive, but I have had no problems in communications with them. If you find a style you like, they work out nicely. Just measure your current frames and select a pair within 2-3mm of your measurements.

My insurance basically gives me a choice between contacts or frames. I'll always take the year supply of contacts and get a pair of frames from here.

I have purchased from GlassesUnlimited recently, honestly, great looking glasses, and CHEEAAAAAAAP~ :D

I bought three pair -- and love them !!

I ordered a pair from them over a year ago, and I'm wearing them as I type this.

No problems with style, accuracy of prescription, or durability. I wear them daily. If I remember correctly, it did take a couple of weeks to get them, but that was no big deal.

I bought a pair of glasses from this company about a month ago and have no complaints for a $15.00 pair of glasses. I only wear them when I drive or fly, but they seem to work fine.

What are you people talking about -- limited selection? They have like 1700+ frames. The code works for $3 off of any pair -- only the rimless pairs cost more. My girlfriend and I have 14 or 15 or 16 pairs from this site between the two of us. I'm wearing a transitions pair from them right now -- THAT cost me $50 total -- with transitions lenses. What are you people talking about with $50 pairs? You must be smoking something. I'll admit that the quality isn't the same as a $250 pair of glasses....but I bought 8 pairs for less than a third of what that one pair costs at the eye doctor.....so if one breaks, boo hoo.

I ordered 2 pair the last time. One for my son who lost his glasses and a pair for me since I had Lasik and one eye works great for reading while the other eye is great for distance. As a teacher, the reading eye is really important. The glasses arrived in about 10 days which is what the Walmart down the block took to get my sons glasses. Over the past 3 months I have had no problems. I ordered a backup pair today and the final cost was 18.00. I am a satisfied customer.

Great deals here! Larger issue - why do frames and lenses cost $300+ at most chain optical departments? Our vision insurance is either/or: contacts or glasses. Our family goes for the contacts and we have several pairs of glasses each from GU - including sunglasses. I don't lose my mind when my son loses/breaks his glasses, not at under $12 each including shipping! Ten days or two weeks equals turnaround time for our local chain - GU are well packaged in hard case. My chain said buy a case or take a cheap plastic cover! Answer for ill-fitting mail order glasses - use a ruler, or use dimensions from your best-fitting pair of glasses. If you order them fitted incorrectly, of course you'll complain - but I've found their live chat to be very helpful. I definitely wouldn't have my pink frames or the cool rimless or prescription sunglasses without this site! Love it.
