Sateen typically denotes that the fabric is a bit less durable. For the money here I think I'd prefer to just go with 1200 threadcount (600 double-weave really) instead. At least at that point the sheets have some weight to them, are durable, and very comfortable.

Then again, buyer beware when it comes to discount high-threadcount sheets. They are typically not the best deal in the world.

I own a set like these bought from Overstock and have had them for four years they are wearing great. I don't own more than three or four sets of sheets so they all get a lot of wear in the weekly rotations. This set is my favorite. Overstock gets their items from the same places as TJ Maxx and Marshalls - they are coming from places that had too much and they are still high quality designer, good labels these aren't knock offs.

I normally buy my 800 thread count sheets on Black Friday every year (2 sets) at Kohls. This is decent enough to get a 3rd set..

I got a King set from amazon(maybe "bedworld" was the seller?) of 1200 count sateen(which my wife taught me was not satin on arrival) shipped for just over 20$ more.
