I'm in for three. To bad these didn't show up earlier, they would have made great stocking stuffers.
Would it have killed them to build this to use a single AAA instead of four button cells? It couldn't have made them much larger. But I guess it might even be a better deal if you just need spare batteries for something else. Although I'm not sure what 48 LR41 batteries would cost normally and I'm too lazy to look.
Edit: Also, the "Simple twist on/off" is rather comical when paired with "Instructions are included in each box". Humanity is doomed if we can't operate these things.
@riocobra: A stack of button cells generate enough voltage to drive a bare white LED. Just wire the voltage to the inputs of the LED and off you go.
Designing an LED flashlight to run on a single 1.5 cell (AAA, AA, C, D) requires circuitry to generate enough voltage to light up a white LED.
It is easier to meet this price point using the button cells. They're cheap as hell and you only need basic wire to power up the LED.
I was just about to jump on these when I found reviews from QVC. A TON of people were disappointed with them: http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.item.V29466.desc.SKIL-7-Piece-LED-Flashlight-Set-with-Carabiner-Clips?
I would have gotten 2 sets but since we can't return them, the risk is too high for me.
Darn it. I can't remove my up-vote. Just pretend that there's one less up there.
@wsmiddel: I would gladly pay more for the circuitry if it means three less points of failure and the added convenience of a AAA battery when it finally runs out of juice. But I do get what you are saying. I have very simple key chain lights that use a single cr2016 and I love them because they are fairly unnoticeable on my key ring. Plus they are cheap enough that I can just toss 'em when the battery dies. I should think of a project for the LED's, though.
Ready for the rave!
For this price you can be very enlightened indeed.
Received mine today - they're adorable and every one of them works perfectly!

@nastyducky: Now I'm tempted. I've got to use the coupon on a t-shirt or these, and looking at the qvc reviews, five star to one star reviews are 47-19-11-11-37. Batteries are 10 cents a piece, if you buy 100 for $10

so I'll sleep on this one.
@fleamarketadict: Thanks. That only works if you do it within woot's 5 minute time limit though. Usually, that's enough but if you don't make it, the vote is there forever.
I bought a set back in December and they arrived recently. The couple I tried seem decent enough, though I have not opened them all. the metal casing makes them feel a bit more sturdy.
@whatsamattau thanks for the link. Convinced me to buy!
Perfect purchase. Got mine today, all work great, and even got spare batteries cheap thanks to the link shared in ths thread.
