It would be better if it was a specific deal. Why do I need to search on overstock.com using deals.woot when I can do it myself?

Oh, crap! I up-voted this, and now my memory fails me. Why did I do that? Thinking. Thinking. Okay...now I remember - these things are really good! Slept on one a few years ago as a guest. Phew. Saved myself. Maybe.

Cant speak for overstock.com but I just got a queen sized one of these from SamsClub for 150. (Serta 4 inch flat) and it feels like a brand new bed.

Just a note this thing is heavy, and it really needs 12-24 hours to air out before you use it, it had a very amonia like smell when I opened mine.

Its shipped compressed very compressed. so unless you have a very complicated press or trash compactor from the death star, you will not get this back out into the box once you cut the outter plastic holding in the compression.

Sweet, satisfying, supple, memory foam! :3

since when is 22% and 27% off some kind of "overstock" deal? crappy deal is crappy.

Who would even have sheets for a 4 inch memory foam topper? Yeah there's deep pocket sheets but if you have a regular size 10" mattress your sheets would have to be 14". I don't even know what'd you do if you had a 12" mattress.

Reason why it's not a specific deal:

- Different folks have different size beds.
- Different desire for thickness so their existing sheets can still fit.
- Different firmness levels.
- Different budgets.

Keep in mind the expensive and often hyped Tempurpedic bed is not 100% memory foam - only the top few inches are. By using a memory foam topper, you can get similar results, but at a much lower price.

After clicking around, there is free shipping on all mattresses (not just memory foam) and it appears that all mattresses are on sale. Did it say, "Welcome: Free shipping on your entire order activated" for anyone else?

Still confused why this is a deals.woot.

you could top rusty nails and shards of glass with 4 inches of memory foam and sleep like a baby, assuming you don't roll out of bed

@rabidmonkeyoncrack: I had problems with even a 2-3" topper. Solution? I used an old fitted sheet on the mattress and the fitted sheet from the current set on just the topper, using these stretchy things on the corners (underneath) to help keep it in place. Don't recall what those are called, but I got them at Bed Bath & Beyond. A bit of a pain, but it makes it all work.

As for memory foam in general, I once read to make sure that whatever you buy is made in the US. Some is made in China, and you know how their safety and environmental restrictions are very lax. These things outgas... I usually put them in a closed room with an open window for several days, though that won't be 100% of it. The ones made in the US will be less toxic. That said, I haven't checked the current stock at overstock.com. I know I have one from them. Just bought one from Costco that has gel beads in it. Wondering if that kind will be better.

I have a memory foam topper from Overstock, and love it. It's not as great as my boyfriend's Tempurpedic, but it makes my mattress so much more comfortable.

I'm glad the link was posted - I have a friend looking for a King size topper and another friend looking for Twin size toppers.

I would of done it...but it's from Overstock ... those yahoo's will post a good deal, you will buy it, then they will come back and say sorry, we can't sell it for that price ...WTF? .... I hate overstock....their CS sucks!

Are these actually on sale?

vote-for6vote-against

Be wary of mattress toppers that are not all one density, but rather have 2 or more layers of different densities. Secondly, anything less than 3.5lb density will get warm and soft very quickly. Lastly, the fundamental problem with any "topper" is that as your body heats the pad, the foam loses its "viscoelastic" nature and goes flat. The thicker (and denser) the pad the less likely that is to happen, but at some point in the night, any topper will do it. But that doesn't mean these can't be quite comfortable, but you very much get what you pay for. Get a good one.

edit: Also, I don't think these prices are any different than their usual ones.

I have a 4" memory foam on my 12" mattress and have no problem with sheets fitting. Most sheets these days are made for extra deep mattresses. Unless you buy them at the dollar store or some discount place that specializes in seconds, of course.

Sorry, that should have read "I have a 4" topper on my 10" mattress" not 12", but with the sheets I have, I believe they would fit if I did have a 12". I still have plenty material to tuck under the mattress, and it doesn't slip up.

@migelito: Sleep like a baby? What's that, waking up every two hours wanting to eat?

vote-for3vote-against

@meh3884:

Well, maybe it depends on use. We bought this one http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Comfort-Dreams-4.5-inch-Full-size-Memory-Foam-Sofa-Sleeper-Mattress/4320008/product.html?keywords=12296416&searchtype=Header but only use it in the pop-up camper. The dual density seems to work well in the roll of not a topper, but the only mattress on the bed. YMMV.

i bought the 1 inch topper when it was $25 out the door. I have to admit that the shipping takes quite a while and the 1 inch topper is too thin to be effective. my wife and i cant even tell it's there for the most part. I probably wouldnt buy it knowing what i know now.

@phoenixgirrl: Isn't it time for him to take the relationship to the next level and buy you one of your own? ;)

This is the best on the market and comes in a variety of thicknesses. I got the 4" thick version and absolutely love it. 3-4" is optimal if you are a stomach sleeper like myself.
