Just a heads-up: Most of these inexpensive USB turntables (including this one; I checked) use old-style ceramic cartridges. These use substantially higher tracking force than the more modern magnetic cartridges, and can do serious damage to your records if you're not careful. Buyer beware.

Wow ceramic, totally agree with you. Ceramic cartridges are really only good for "kids" type of turntables, you know the ones that were basically for playing 45s.
They probably use ceramic because of it's higher voltage output that doesn't require as much of a preamp....
