If you are curious about the shipping costs that go along with the offer, this added about $2.00 additional shipping (ground to CA) onto my order when the free kettle was added.

Northern Brewer is my #1 choice for all things beer related. I've brewed 5 different recipes from this site, all with amazing success. I also use this same kettle, which is perfect for the job. If you want to get into homebrewing, this is an excellent entry point. Buy a recipe kit (or two), a fermenting jug and an optional secondary fermenter, a siphoning tube and some fermenting tools, get your free kettle, and you're ready to go. You're just 4-6 weeks away from an amazing brew that tastes even better than store-bought beer, has a higher alcohol content, and is cheaper in the end!

They also have one gallon brewing kits available for around $50.00 if you just wanted to check out the hobby without investing to much money. PBW and StarSan are also great options for cleaning your equipment and sanitizing everything. You could add a couple different recipe kits to your order and get that free kettle. Northern Brewer is a great choice for homebrewing supplies , but sometimes the shipping charges are very high. I typically use Austin home brew supply or Brewmasters warehouse they both have flat rate shipping fees and a great selection of brewing supplies

You should also check out Small Batch Homebrew. They have a 4 pack of brews. Four different brew kits for $48 + $7.99 flat rate shipping. Each kit brews a 12 pack. Great customer service. I've had questions on weekends and they've responded very quickly.

I own this exact kettle and while it gets the job done it can be finicky if you are cooking on a stovetop. It's hard to get a consistent boil on the stovetop with this kettle because it is very thin-walled and can start to shake at high temperatures. I'd recommend using a propane burner outside for best results, I use this one and it's awesome: http://www.amazon.com/Bayou-Classic-SP10-High-Pressure-Outdoor/dp/B000291GBQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1360783295&sr=8-2&keywords=bayou+burner

I love Northern Brewer's recipe kits but their shipping costs are way too high compared to the competition. If they switched back to flat rate shipping I would buy all my gear and ingredients from them.
