I can't help but think you should invest in the Better Marriage Blanket as well. You'll have to Google it. The page isn't loading so there's no use in my linking it.

Fan sounds interesting except I get cold as I'm falling asleep.

I'm always burning hot while I'm trying to fall asleep. The Better Marriage Blanket....that is the funniest thing I have ever seen! I love it!

Be aware of this: as a former manager of a local Brookstone, I have a nagging suspicion that some of the reviews on their website are faked. We had products that were always returned a few days after they were bought that had a 4.X average review on the website.

vote-for3vote-against

I would categorize this under "interesting product" but not a woot! deal. Where is the deal?

Free shipping on $100 or more, today. Doesn't count.

@thunderthighs: "Better Marriage Blanket" ... I watched the YouTube video ... HILARIOUS!!!

vote-for18vote-against

this product may lead to terrible dutch oven blowback...

vote-for7vote-against

or you could just throw off the sheets and save 80 bucks

vote-for6vote-against

I want one of these on my side of the bed, with a remote control. That way, whenever I beef one, I can just blow it over to my wife's side.

vote-for3vote-against

I'm legitimately interested. But like whojamacallit said, the review look very...placed. The average online shopper doesn't use the shift key, nor put so much personal info on a website. Gonna do some more research, and I maybe (teehee) be in for 3.

vote-for4vote-against

Here are 50 reviews of it. Over all people say it's constructed a bit flimsy but they love it even so far as buying a second one after they broke the first one due to weak construction.

So, if you can afford this, you can afford an AC.

I don't get it.

vote-for1vote-against

Dude...

just take off the blanket.

vote-for2vote-against

I Own one and have for a few years (I think). I bought it when I heard about it from Dick Debartolo. It is a tad flimsy but can be reinforced very easily. I tend to move around a lot during the night so constant resetup is needed. But I am very happy with it and the inventor is a very nice man and have received great service when I ordered direct from his site.

vote-for2vote-against

@everyone that doesn't get it - can you say HOT FLASHES? If you have never had hot flashes you cannot imagine how miserable they are and how disruptive they are to sleep. Throwing off all the covers and ripping off any clothing just does not help but, a fan blowing directly on you does give some some relief - the old evaporative cooling.

vote-for2vote-against

Maybe it's just too early, but I really don't get how you tuck your top sheet in with this installed. Anyone know?

vote-for1vote-against

@rockmasterflex69: I don't have central A/C and buying a window unit for Casement windows is about $400. $80 is much more affordable than $400.

I have owned this fan for about 6 months. I had a gift card from Brookstone and figured why not. It is expensive and I would say that the construction is a little flimsy. But in the end it does what it is suppose to do. I like to sleep with a top sheet on even in the summer. The fan provides circulation to keep me comfortable and allow me to use a sheet.

FYI...I would not consider the fan to be very quiet. At full speed it puts out some noise.

vote-for1vote-against

@tronne: I just feel like I should point out that almost all of those reviews were just copy pasted from Brookstone's site.

vote-for2vote-against

you can tell men are responding to this, it is way more than just throwing off the blanket when you have a hot flash. While I do agree that the product is a bit over priced. Taking on and off the blanket is just a PITA when you have hotflashes. I do run a fan in my room all year round and this is the only way I have found to assist in the situation. Even with the AC on in my room I need air blowing around all the time to cool. I am sure other women probably feel the same way.

I love the idea of a bed fan, but my feet get cold at night and I would end up being uncomfortable.

vote-for2vote-against

@hobbit: could you install it on the side of the bed somehow so the fan wasn't blowing directly on your feet?

vote-for1vote-against

@perkalicious11: I would need to be at the head of my bed probably I usually need a fan up there, but according to the above poster this is also fairly noisy. My bedroom fan is across the room, helping to also cool the entire room. I do have central AC as well, but you know how much more a fan helps.

vote-for3vote-against

It's a bit cheaper from the bedfan website http://www.secure-bedfan.com/ I don't plan to purchase this, but after seeing it it seems an easy DIY with a box fan and a cardboard manifold.

vote-for1vote-against

"If you want to use the bedfan on a platform bed (water bed etc..), you just turn the fan by 180 degrees and have the fans pointed outward versus drawing air from under the bed. It is still very well hidden even when installed like this."

Uh, solution to the Dutch Oven blowback?

vote-for1vote-against

For hot flashes: Clonidine. Safe, effective, cheap. I take 2 at bedtime and it has seriously helped me sleep through the night. You can take it during the day, but makes me a little drowsy and the hot flashes aren't as bad.

vote-for1vote-against

@oscaroni: I don't take drugs. so at least in my case this isn't an option. Getting me to take my allergy medication is a challenge.

vote-for1vote-against

@sheppard2jt: I agree. A cheap fan, some ducting, or cardboard and you have a DIY solution for less.

Maybe that's the real deal.woot.

vote-for2vote-against

All this flatulence talk is making me hungry for one of Moe's South West Grills "Home Wrecker" Burrito...

vote-for2vote-against

Always wanted to smell what's under my bed mixed with the smell of my feet.

vote-for1vote-against

@sheppard2jt: Love the billowing sheets in the video, I'm sure I couldn't sleep with that..."The Bedfan is powered by a specially designed transformer that will convert power to 12 volts and less than one amp." I have a spare 12V power supply and some PC case fans...time to get experimenting. I don't get too hot in bed (ceiling fan works fine for me to allow the AC setting to step up at night) but there are a few vent functions that I could use it for. Mercedes used to have a stale air vent setting on their HVAC systems, why not say less obscurely what that's really for?

vote-for2vote-against

Whats wrong with a normal fan pointed at you? Its how I sleep.

vote-for0vote-against

Doesn't this technically ruin the purpose of blankets/sheets? I don't know about you, but I'm under the covers for warmth. Not to be cold. The cold is supposed to be on the outside. Not under the covers.
