I think I've only used one of these as a wrench once, and it worked well enough when nothing else would. But I use these more often when I'm gluing crap together* or need to hold stuff in place, like an extra set of hands, except one's smaller than the other. HEY! DON'T MAKE FUN!!!

* AND YES, I glue actual crap together. It's a hobby. Lots of people do it, it's way more popular than you realize. Srsly.

I have several strap wrenches, and they can be very handy.

One pair of small ones live in the kitchen drawer. They are great for opening difficult lids, from soda bottle size all the way up to lids that are around 5" across, too big to get a grip on with your hand.

A large one is great for loosening/tightening the locking ring on the hot tub's filter canister, which is about 9" across.

I might pick up a spare set next time we are at Habah Frate.

Hey, hadn't thought about using 'em in the kitchen... smart. I'm gonna try out my smaller one next time I'm going nuts trying to open a jar.
