They were a huge influence on the Beatles.

I still have this album on what my daughter call, um, a "Big CD." LOL!

@tcanning: I think you mean that the other way around, The Monkees were formed in 1965, inspired from The Beatles.

@zodaddy: Ahem. I do believe it was a joke.

@zodaddy: Yeah, but look at all the fools that down rate you for being right LOL!

@pamfenway: Yeah the joke is the down rating. He was nice about it too.

In 1967, they out-sold The Beatles. Yes, it was only for one year, but that was an amazing feat for anyone to outsell The Beatles. Some of their best songs were not among their greatest hits.

I loved watching their show on Nick at Nite. No, it wasn't a great show, but I loved watching it anyway. :)

@jha1223: I was a great show when I was a kid and cable TV was something very few people had. The Monkeys,Wild Wild West,Hogans Heros, and Giligan's Island rocked when I was 7.

Turned out the Monkeys music was really good too.

"Speed Racer" is a pre 4 year old program which just brings on a overwhelming feeling of joy. Yes my mom worked 3 jobs and I was raised by TV. And I turned out TV.
