I am a bit curious about this, as according to the wikipedia site, the uncompressed text only version of wikipedia is over 30 gigs, and that much flash memory isn't usually available under $20

Fascinating. About $30 on amazon. Mediocre (but not awful) reviews. Think I'll stick with my smartphone and wait for a better offline reader. Am also puzzled as to how they squeeze in everything...must still have some kind of compression?

Sadly this version was updated on the day of the wikipedia blackout...

I think the 30gb figure is for all languages, this is English only.

I downloaded the compressed English xml-dump about a month ago and it was 6.5gb. I doubt the ENTIRE wiki is on their advertised 4gb microsd, but likely enough topics to cover almost everything you can think of.

I recall downloading an offline Wikipedia app for my iPod touch a couple years back and it was 2gb. Some pages were missing, though it was very rarely an issue.

I have this. Long articles are truncated. The screen is not real easy to read, but for access to WP when you don't have internet it's great.
