daaaaaaaang, just ordered a 7" galaxy tab 2 today on cowboom, puts this right in field w/ the nexus too..

@spikedknight: meant in the same field of price. Perhaps less hardware, but, some plusses. (ports, expandability)
Know I'll wake up to some razing if I boldly say the wrong thing about a tablet

@spikedknight: lol...I understand. There is a lot to be said for this over the Nexus 7. Ports, rear camera, etc. I grabbed one.

Everyone that says that expandable storage is unnecessary because of the cloud must live where there is WiFi everywhere. This is simply not true for me. I need expandable storage and I am NOT going to connect a dongle every time that I need it. I LOVED the Nexus 7 and for many people it is perfect, but for me, impractical. I also need the rear camera as a document scanner. What a pain to try to use the front one.

These are just 2 reasons. I trade speed, latest OS, and pixel density for practicality. I have WiFi and the next closest is over 30 minutes away...RURAL!

@morriea: Agree completely. I bought a full size A500 a few years ago due to the full size USB and micro sd card support. (galaxy tab 2 at least has sd card slot, I'm ok w/ a dongle for the occasional thumb drive but this will be an entertainment device).
But this Thrive is a good deal for anyone in the market, especially w/ a pain free no questions asked 30 day return policy @cowboom.

@spikedknight: I do love the return policy at cowboom, but this is also NEW with the full factory warranty. Hard to beat!

@morriea: The Nexus 7 can use flash drives with a USB OTG adapter, requiring rooting (very easy to do) or a $3 app on the Playstore.

Does the Thrive 7 come with ICS? If so, it can't be rooted at all, meaning no restoring with Titanium Backup.

@eidelbus: OTG Connector = Dongle. Exactly what I was referring to. I have them all over the place as they will work with many Android Tablets. It is easier to use an SD card. Fill it up, stick it in, DONE. As I said trading for ease of use. Do you really think using an extra cable and flash drive is easier than interior access? It simply is not so. That is the trade-off.

FYI, The Thrive comes with Honeycomb, updateable to ICS.
