Excellent. This should help @jeffrjohn solve the remote programming issue he posted about yesterday.

Note, shipping is $4.99 for the first one. There was no extra shipping for a second one. This is a huge savings. Everything on ebay is from $9-$20 after shipping.

Seems like a pretty good deal, considering you need the remote to operate your ROKU and I don't know of anywhere else to get a replacement...

Just an FYI... If you are looking for a handy solution for a lost Roku remote and you have an iPhone, just download an app called DVPRemote. It works off of your wifi connection and you can control the Roku from anywhere in your house. I think the app is $1.99 but it is well worth it. You can also set it up to control multiple Roku's. The keyboard feature is also extremely useful.

There's also a free Android app that can control your Roku over wifi. Just search the market for Roku remote.

On my iPhone I point Safari to http://apps4tv.com/remoku, give it my Roku's home LAN IP address and it works just fine. Also means searches much faster to type the terms rather than using the nav buttons on the remote.

Another solution to preempt a lost Roku remote is to simply get a universal remote with the ability to learn (not too expensive, you can easily find one for under $20 nowadays).

Though the reply ability is pretty nice.

@beerknurd: Thanks I found one for my android. I am all packed for a weekend trip away and brought our roku in case we wanted to watch a movie. Then I realized I forgot the remote. Didn't want to drive back home after work, and now I don't have to. Thanks so much!

Will these work with the old-old model Rokus? I got one off of Woot a few months ago that didn't have a remote, and my stupid ghetto programmable remote died the other day...

Even with 5 bucks shipping its a good deal..thanks!

@anorion: Yes, according to the description of it here:

"Sometimes an extra remote is just great to have around. This one features Instant Replay so you can instantly skip back to catch that line you missed. Works with all Roku models.

This is a better deal than you think. I've heard some rumors about this one.....

hey guise, why should I buy a roku when I can stream nflix from my PS3? I know it can do amazon streaming for me because I'm a prime member. I don't give a crap about Hulu. What else do you watch on yours? (for free that is)

@katanaryda:

I also own a PS3 and several Roku's as well (bedrooms and living room) as our family enjoys watching the other programming available on our Roku's.

But, many people do not have the luxury of owning a PS3, let alone having one in each room that they want to watch it in. A Roku player, which can now be bought for around $45 w/ free shipping with a coupon (do a search here on deals.woot), gives you access to over 300 channels (mostly free) to watch anything you can think of as well as social networking (Facebook) and music (Pandora). Not to mention there are "private" non listed channels that developers are always adding that bring additional functionality to the device like PC media streaming. It's like having a free cable box that's fun to use.

Check it out the channels for yourself : http://www.roku-channels.com/

Above all, for those of us (like myself) that are energy conscious, it only consumes 5 watts of power, which is HUGE energy savings over a PS3 or the like.
